AudiPartner
I'd like to get my M3 on the rollers to see just how shy of the "321bhp" it actually is. In reality its very rare to see even 300 out of an e36 M3. Also, I fancy doing a 1/4 mile run. Never done one before. Anyone know of anything going on? Mook
I organised a dyno day at Janspeed in Salisbury a couple of months ago for R32 owners and it was a decent event, although we could have done with a bit more of a social afterwards. We used Janspeed as they have a 4WD rolling road. I think if you were to organise one then this would be a better option to pursue. Also, generally, companies with RRs will only run a day for 10 or more cars. 1/4 miles are more of an event for Santa Pod and at this time of year with the rain and everything, I'm not sure whether they're still doing "Run What Ya Brung" events. There are other ways of measuring 1/4 mile, like using a G-Tech Pro meter (which will also measure your 0-60, 0-100, 0-60-0 etc) - it needs to be set up for each car, but is a possibility. I would be happy to bring mine along if a Dyno Day event kicks off with a suitable (non-public) road for testing nearby. Where in the UK are you based AP? AudiPartner
[ QUOTE ] Where in the UK are you based AP? [/ QUOTE ] Bromley, Kent (/South East London). Fancy organising another rolling road day then? I'll muck in... Open to all this time, might get a bit more interest. And do it at the weekend! skifly
potentially count me in too - tempted to see what the stock GTI can do - seems slightly weaker than the demo car but then mine's not had a thrashing since new and needs a bit more running in. I am just up the road from AudiPartner by the sound of it (on Bromley Rd ) Look out for a lazer blue GTI around lewisham / bromley areas with plate P* *CO
AudiPartner
Will do fella. Used to live just off Bromley Road myself. I'm a Bromley South boy now! I'll keep my eyes peeled. I'm in a siler hard topped M3 convertible (e36) with "BUFF" on the plate!

Mook
OK, there's an option to do a dyno day at AmD in Bicester, about 20 miles north of Oxford. I don't have a problem talking to them or organising it, as I have spent a few pennies with them over the past year I also know someone who knows the new owner They have a 4WD rolling road, which will give you the bhp and lb/ft at the flywheel, rather than at the wheels, which a lot of the tuning companies use (including Janspeed and Awesome GTI). Lots of posts on TsN about AmD - they tune pretty much anything German from VW to BMW to Porsche. Can we have an initial vote of interest in doing the dyno day please, whether it's at AmD or somewhere else and, if somewhere else in the South, pls suggest where. We can then start a separate thread with a poll and ask the mods to make it sticky for a while.
dogbucket
I would be interested @AMD, as I could not make the Janspeed one. EDIT : ok, just saw the other thread and voted
