jimdiesel
The safe crossing times for Holy Island on the 20th are 8:05 to 15:20. That would work.
johnss8
If we're not in between these times does that mean we'll have to swim, only asking just in case i need my trunks

NewNiceMrMe
One thing for sure is that Holy Island Causeway makes for a stunning photographic location for cars. In respect of getting stranded on the wrong side, well we wouldn't really want that....as the tide height reaches 4.9 metres....yes, metres..... jimdiesel
So not even Quattro will get you across. Have you not found the Amphibious mode on the i-drive yet Chris?

steve2
Chris, think this thread needs to be retitled now NOT The Largest TSN Meet Ever Top marks for trying to organize it though
NewNiceMrMe
Yes, disappointing take up, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Harrogate was mind you.
Milo
The percentage turnout (i.e. number of "local" members vs number of attendees) means it is The Biggest TSN Meet Ever (that sounds like a CD )
Scotty
Run that past me again?!?! If the weird criteria you decide on hasn't previously been exceeded, then it is The Biggest TSN Meet Ever ? How about we stick with the idea of the number of people that turn up. John_Doe
Or sadly rename it as "The longest thread going nowhere!" I hope that there is a decent turn out for your get together guys as it might just set the standard for future North East meets, and it would be nice to have a regular monthly meet as per other geographical areas.... This was to enable me to get a good idea of numbers and decide whether or not it was worth some of the long journeys involved for what might be a small number of members meeting (especially in comparison to the provisional list). So, where are we? Well out of the 19 names above we have a maximum of 9 as confirmed. Not too good. If it's like this on Friday lunchtime then I'll be proposing to move the meet to a start location of a service station en route to Holy Island - and then to trek over to the Island and perhaps go for a run elsewhere too. This will almost certainly increase the number of attendees and shortens the distance travelled for the majority involved. So.....can those that haven't confirmed yet please bear in mind that it'd be good to know by Friday lunchtime. The 20th is now only 11 days away so I'd hope most have a good idea whether or not they can make it by now (or by Friday). Not being arsey, not trying to spoil it for anyone, but I just don't want a meet that flops when the opportunity is there to guarantee a higher attendance and possibly a better run too. GTiMK5
MrMe, I cant give you a definite yes or no I am afraid. I am due to fly out of Iraq sometime next week but nothing is guaranteed here, just have to take it as it comes. If I do get back in time I will be there. Sorry I cant give you a more definite answer at this time.

[/ QUOTE ] He's got a point though Chav and so do you. There have been meets where everyone says they can or possibly can attend and a day before it all falls apart. Us North Easterners and more importantly the Scottish contingent are travelling a fair distance for others not to turn up; so if we have a choice then a meet closer to those attending who know they can would be prefereable. There's no ideal solution but it would be good if you could make it to Harrogate. By the way Holy Island is on the Northumberland Coast near(ish) to Berwick. [/ QUOTE ] But...likewise...some people don't want to commit their Sunday to a wasted journey of over 200 miles on a round trip if it means they'll end up with a handful of cars. I said it previously, I've made arrangements around the trip so it's six and two threes between those that can't commit and those that can commit but don't want to find their plans changing at the last minute. It's not being arsey, it's just trying to see both sides. I've tried that for 3 weeks and I think it's a fair process waiting for Friday.
johnss8
Chris, Harrogate not a problem still up for that, but as much as i'd love to go and have a look at Holy Island it's a little bit to far for me this time.
