If the budget is too strong on the R, spec up a GTi might be the way ahead, albeit, I accept, the Recaro's are not yet a UK option on the GTi! The GTI is a great car, but it lacks the 4WD and the ability to tune it reliably beyond 300 bhp - not what everyone wants, but what I am looking for. It would have to be an R for me - Mk4 or Mk5.
