Ska
Ok.. I'm thinking of tinting my windows to 50%vlt my photoshop aint working so can someone please show me what it might look like Also do you guys think I should or shouldn't tint: I've found that on the previous cars I have tinted (yes myself) I have had far far less incidents of road rage etc. A penny 4 your thoughts... willg60
Personally, I'm not a fan of tinting... I think it looks ok on brand new black saloons, but for older cars, it looks a bit dodge. I prefer to get the glass really clean inside and out, polish it, and that looks best. The glass on the A8 is already tinted blue?
login
Mine is Tinted virtually limo black, you cannot see in at all. However, because of the blue/green pretint it already has, it has a superb shade once tinted black. One word of advice though, do not do it yourself. I had a mobile guy do mine, and it took him 1.5 days as due to the way the window seals are orientated on the inside, he had to remove the door frame completely on all doors. Looks absolutely superb. i´ll try to get a picture of it another day. scot
Ska
Thanks for the advise but I'm gona do it anyway; I found out a while ago that I had the knack for it, see here: I am aware that the frame must be removed to gain proper access to the glass hence I will do two windows a day:
Botang
I wouldnt, but only from a legal point of view. The Police/VOSA are very hot on tinted windows now and I think to only have the rear of the car tinted is a bit of a waste of time.
Ska
But I've seen plenty of Folk with new and old cars driving around; infact my mechanic has a dark smoke fitted to E36 BMW and has never been asked to remove it? Mines will be a lot subtle than that.

Chav
Tinted windows look cool on black cars. On other colours, it just looks stupid and "wannabe". (IMO )
willg60
Agreed, only really looks ok on black cars...

spencerbruntlett
tinted windows are great in summer but at this time of year I think they can make the car feel very dark and gloomy
johnss8
Got to go with the others and say leave it original.
crasher
I thought about gettin tints but instead i keep the rear/side blinds up instead. Has a similar effect
Ska
I would be content with the blinds as well... if only I had any I've been trying to get hold of some for the rear screen but cant find any? Besides today I saw a silver 8 with darker tints than 50% and it looked good IMO
SneakyMcC
Then go for it!

TriGGa
I think the tints look reely good. IMO they would suit a black car so much more. But still... very verrry nice

Ska
O Kayy... support s t e a d i l y growing... gaining strength... Hoo Hooo Haa Haaa Haaaa and KERBLANG!!! its as good as done now. Got to get my windscreen changed first though, BTW what type of damage constitutes a change of windscreen rather than repair; On a recent trip back from Cheltenham I encountered all the trucks on the planet and I've now got loads of stone chips/crack on my screen ranging from about a £1 coin size to 1mm chips. I'm covered on my insurance but want to get it replaced rather than billions of patch-up jobs. Anyone had similar experience?

It's not my cup of tea, but good luck
