Stoogie
i Have an Audi A6 1.8T cvt. It has Multironic shift. Its a 2001 model with 94000 mile on it. Full Service history and has never missed a beat. Question being i'm thinking of a REVO remap. At this millage and age , am i just asking for trouble? thanks
Mook
From the perspective of the engine, I ran an A4 1.8T with an AmD 180bhp upgrade (the software remap is similar to REVO). It was past 180,000 miles when I sold it and it never missed a beat, so the engine is up to it without a doubt. Not sure about the multitronic shift - not saying that it wouldn't cope, as it may be the same as the 'box fitted in the A6 with the 2.7 bi-turbo V6, which pushed out 250 bhp as standard. One of the resident techs will be along shortly
Stoogie
Thanks Mook, would be interested in finding out if the box it up to the extra torque.
Mook
Have a chat with the guys at www.amdtechnik.com - you say you're going down the route of REVO, which is fine, but the AmD guys will be able to answer your question - ask them about the Stage 1 remap for your car, which will provide around the same power and torque hike for your engine (+35 bhp/ + 35 lb/ft torque). They modify the remap on the Stage 4 conversion (300+ bhp) on the Audi A3 Q 3.2 to reduce the amount of torque when its installed with the DSG 'box. Stoogie
Thanks, i will. I have asked the question at A tuner in northampton but it seems they can't be bothered to answer my email.( i reserve the right to withdraw this statement if it is found that i have sent the email to the wrong place or some other reason may raise its head....) but i think i'll go with your advice bud, thanks
Mollox
Ask whether the gearbox ECU will have to be remapped also. I know this is the case with many of the autoboxes, don't know if it also applies to Multitronic

Mitchet
Bear in mind you can get the multitronic box on the 1.9TDi 130 (like I have ), which means it's certainly capable of handling 310Nm. IIRC to the 1.8T CVT is around 210Nm? I'm thinking of getting my car remapped at the moment, but I'd like to hear from anyone who's had a Tdi/Multitronic done before? Mook
The biggest change you'll notice in remapping a diesel is the ridiculous increase in torque. I had my Allroad 2.5 TDI remapped by AmD and it chucked out 360 lb/ft of torque. It was a manual, but AmD said they apply a different remap to reduce the torque on the auto boxes.
