The site is down at the moment.

I've put a bullet camera on mine (in the grill) and fed the cable back to a Sony camcorder and plugged it into the Aux socket. Did a good job.

Thats ideally what I would like to do, (if its fairly simple to set up!)

Presumably you could run one to a digital camera instead of camcorder so it could be easily transferred to a PC?

It's like USB. A connecting cable/technology to transfer images/audio from a device to your PC. It was developed by Apple.

It runs at 400Mbps, where as USB 2.0 runs at something like 480Mbps.

I have to use Firewire on my PC/Camcorder to get the raw footage off the camera. If I try and use USB, it reduces the quality for some reason.

I use Adobe Premier to get the files, but Windows Movie Maker 2 is very good at getting the images from the camcorder too.

I had my camera mounted under the front grill on the car, and in the main grill - only drawback is if you hit a fly. It covers the entire lens!

I saw a company selling wireless bullet cams at the MPH05 show - specifically developed for the auto and motorbike industry, rather than modified or adapted wireless bullets used in other industries.

They come with a box of gizmos that receive the wireless picture signal from the lens and plug into your video cam, safe and secure in the boot. You can then strap the camera onto any part of the car (front, back, door mirror, door etc.), so you're not having to trail wires all over the place.

Kinda handy as well when you need to conceal a camera for driving round the Nurburgring...

Retail was about £150. Will try to dig out the info and post a URL when I get home.

The company is called Sports Cameras - you need the Extreme Vision wireless 500 metre range from the wireless receiver http://www.sports-cameras.co.uk/extremetwo.shtml - £147 inc VAT + £7 shipping 169144-ok.gif
