Scotty
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] looks like you're making two then! [/ QUOTE ] Scotty do you want me to make you one while I'm at it you lazy sod? [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the offer but I wouldn't ask you to do that. It would be difficult anyway as I guess mine won't be in exactly the same spot as yours. You've actually got me interested in doing something about it though. What is the material your using and where do you get it?
mb
That's the standard we expect !
seaco
This is the kind of thing I was talking about, if yours was a single slot 6 disc changer then it should be the same? PS this isn't mine yet I just nicked the pic to show you what I mean, and I'll probably make it in thin MDF...
Scotty
Yep mine was but I'm thinking it's gonna be a custom fit due to exactly where it was placed. You've convinced me to check it out. Watch this space!

Biscuits
Just ordered a vw phatnoise from the states. Will use hi density black foam (like you get in camera flight cases) to neaten up the install. Should look good and be more forgiving than mdf or ally. Will post a pic when done. Chav
Why can't someone make a single-din sized front fascia with a slot in the right place and phatbox written on it?
Scotty
Coz it's not a single din sized hole!
staffbull
I've got an A4 tdi SE that I want to fit a PN in, it has the basic sat nav system installed so theres no CD changer in the boot (the sat nav's there) if I have the cable behind the glove will I need to order the VW type of Phatnoise box? are the boxes the same for Audi and VW? timps
No difference with the box just the interchangeable interface cable that comes with them. Round plug comes with an Audi box Rectangular plug comes with a VW box Glovebox CD changers on Audi = Rectangular plug (if you have got one)
staffbull
cheers - will take the glovebox out when I get the chance. I have a small hole in the glove where I can see through, there seems to be a cloth wrapped cable in there so I'm hoping its that, all I need to do then is mount the Phatnoise box into the glove, I think I'll take the metal case off it like some of the previous posts in this thread. wyliss
Just in the middle of doing this Phatnoise install, what do you guys recommend/use for covering the side of the unit that is visible within the glovebox?
