I think something that has to be considers is which brakes match with the mk4 servo the best. My brakes, no matter how hard you stomp, just dont stop the car as hard as i wanted them to and offer no real advantage over the stock brakes. However when i tried them i the Mk5 Gti they were simply awesome. Id be worried about getting brakes too big as the servo just dosent have enough power. It is worth getting one which is tried and tested on the R (not like mine) and from what i can understand Mooks are the only ones, and he loves them. Unless you can find anyone who has experience with another set, I wouldnt do it. They are a lot of money and you want a good increase in breaking performance to justify it.

That is a very good point and well worth remembering - just because it is large doesn't make it an upgrade in all circumstances.

i'd been contemplating a brake upgrade for a while, so contacted AP Racing for advice. This their reply (in part):

"The R32 Mk1V uses a Ø320x30mm with a very deep pad face of 65mm. The APR kit would also reduce the pad area from the standard R32 set up. Another negative being the standard wheel would not accept the 6-pot set up. We

therefore declined to offer a kit for the R32.

My advice would be to source at a superior pad material contact

([email protected]) you could also fit braided hose and high

temperature fluid. The looks wont improve but these additions should

provide excellent road performance."

so maybe you should try this first and then decide whether you need that upgrade...

It's a bit worrying that they don't know what size discs a standard MKIV R32 has, if they've decided not to offer a kit for it based upon the 'facts' they quoted. crazy.gif
