P_G
Full size alloy, all S4's do. RS4's get foam and a battery instead, cheapskates!

Avus_Bub
[ QUOTE ] What did your cars come with as a spare? [/ QUOTE ] space saver? Don't know why though. I've seen other B6 S-Lines with a full size alloy. BUB
CraigR
My cab,and indeed each of the other cars i have had all came with a full size 18" spare alloy. I have been asked when spec'ing a new car if i want a full size spare or a space saver.
Nelson_R32
My car came with Quattro GMBH 18" 9 spokes and a steel spare, the 9 spokes were then swapped for 5 spoke RS6 wheels to keep a customer happy. I couldn't hack a 15 inch Space saver (or having to drive at 50mph when I got a puncture in Germany) so I bought a new 5 spoke RS6 alloy wheel and tyre. Don't ask how much it was, because you don't even want to know!!

AvantSE
Cool, so it sounds as though there is plenty of space in the spare wheel well for another full size wheel. Waiting for wheel supplier chap to ring back, not holding my breath!

Nelson_R32
S-lines prepped from Quattro GMBH (so B6 S-lines and the new Special Editions) come with a full size spare. Non Quattro GMBH S-lines (B7's) come with Space Savers unless specified.
techieboy
My S-Line Special Edition came with a steel spare but I think thats because I went with the RS6 style wheels, instead of the 15 spoke wheels. Just bought a new matching OEM wheel and tyre of eBay to use as a spare, so will have a spare spare tomorrow.

My car has a space saver and being the anorak that I am, I checked my 2004 price list and it confirms that the S-Line has a space saver. Fergy
does the spare not depend on the Drivetrain setup. I know sportbacks have a shallowwer boot if it has Quattro

Chav
I thought quattros usually came with space savers due to the smaller space avail due to driveshaft etc.

I don't know why Audi put a space saver in TBH....... Even a full size steel wheel would be better. BUB
Chav
Maybe it's just a cost thing then... tight arse bastards. Probably the same reason I haven't got any spare bulbs in my car. Grrr.

Grrr. [/ QUOTE ] Probably but the price of space saver tyres isn't cheap. ITRO £80-£100. Still it's a few 'beans' saved by the bean counters I guess. BUB PS. Chav does any car come with spare bulbs?
