Chav
Chaps, just started the car and it says right rear light has gone. Is there a spare in the car somewhere?
cabby
Don't think so. If it's a brake light check the bulb if not from Audi. The liitle pins at the base on the most bulbs are opposite each other but Audi ones for some reason (£££££ ?) are offset.

Chav
Right chaps, Went to halfrauds and got some bulbs. Fitting was £2 so went for that. However, the chap at halfrauds couldn't do it! So, I've found these instructions from the blingmeister.... [ QUOTE ] 1. Locate the two circles in the trim adjacent to the rear light cluster in the boot. Pull the trim back slightly (it is clipped in at certain positions). 2. Expose the hex type bolt, which is on the side of the boot and is holding the unit in place - commonly surrounded with a plastic ring. 3. Undo bolt and remove - the rear light cluster will now easily come out. 4. Unclip the bulb mounting board from the plastic cluster, which can be placed safely somewhere (i.e. in the boot!). 5. Replace the bulbs - caution 0 the brake light is at right angles to the others, so forget LEDS (sorry guys!) 6. Reverse all actions! [/ QUOTE ] Does the hex type bolt mean the big black plastic thing? Theres a small screw inside but loosening that does nothing. Can I have some instructions suitable for a pleb please! Drewcam
Just a quick note Chav. I had Audi roadside assist out to me the other day and he explained some of the benifits to me. One was that they even come out and change a bulb if you car is still under warrenty FOC
Soapsuds
Jay - it is a large cross-head screw with a bolt-type 'hex' fitting also - i.e. you can use a socket to undo it, or a big x-head screwdriver..... When that is unscrewed, the light cluster is still held firmly in place by 2 plastic lugs that fit into a rubber gromet in the bodywork, so you need to kind of grab the lights and pull OUT away from where the screw goes into the light fitting. If that is as clear as mud, call Audi Assist you numptey.
