Justhe1
Went to pick my new car up from the dealer this lunchtime, after several conversations confirming it would be ready, and as I pulled onto the forecourt there it was, in all its glory - dirty and with the wrong wheels on.....!! I had specifically asked them if they had ordered the 5 arm alloys on,in place of the DTM alloys and was told yes they had!! Anyway after waiting for 15 mins we were shown to the the car, and it was dirty inside & out - apparently it had beed driven from the local holding depot, which I think is about 20 miles away, and just looked, well, not like a new car should be. Sticky dirt marks on the handbrake, console etc and just generally dusty with dirty handprints - looks like whoever pdi'd it had been rubbing some bodywork down or something!! After having a moan they are going to rob the wheels off the nice white Cab in the showroom, they wanted to take some off another s-line but as it had Continental tyres and the Cab had Dunlop SP's (The same as on my new cars DTM wheels) they had no choice!! One good thing to note is that I have a full size spare, so they have to give me 5 off ....5-Arm alloys They asked if I could hang around while they changed them and I said no, plus I wanted it cleaned inside & out - so I'm back down there at 12.30 again tomorrow, hopefully with a bit more luck I must admit to thinking whether I should have stayed with BMW - their level of service has always been impeccable, and I remember the shockingly bad service I got when I had my TT, when Audi Vindis were about, but thought things had improved!! Could it be becaue we bought the car throught the comapany, and as such dealt with the fleet management side of Audi? I would have hoped it wouldn't have made a difference - if anything they got the sale & the finance...!! Ah well, rant over - hopefully I'll have some better news tommorrow !! Sparky
That's shocking! I would be expecting some form of good-will apology or something. All that money and that's how you're treated. Audi dealers really are hit and miss. The one I use is fantastic, but the one I bought from wasn't.
Korkster
Sorry to hear about your problems! Good result tho if you get 5x5 arm-alloys, as (I maybe wrong) but I think everyone else who went for the 5 arm's got a space saver spare! Also (again maybe wrong) but I think the 5 arms came with the Continental's and not Dunlops! Anyway Good Luck for tomorrow - it's worth the wait!! Justhe1
Yeah, all should be fine I'm sure, I've calmed down now...!! Strange though why they put continentals on the A4 saloon 5 Arm's, but Dunlop SP's on the A4 Cab..? I had Conti's on the M3 when I first got it and ditched those quickly enough, they were awful, esp in the rain! Looks like if I get 5 full size wheels with Dunlops I've got a result then!! Phantom
Mine would have come with a space saver, I thought the extra £150 was a worthwhile investment for the full size spare
Cupramax
Yeah, I was surprised to find a full size spare in mine when I picked it up. didn't think there'd be room in the floorpan on a quattro cab.

You're paying a price which includes delivery anywhere in the country for starters. Some dealers don't have a clue eh.

NewNiceMrMe
As has been said above, I'd be furious too. My own experience hasn't been quite that bad, but disappointing nonetheless. I can't speak for the dealership network in general but from a personal point of view the service I receive at my BMW dealership has been incomparable with that at my Audi dealership. The latter being far inferior.

Justhe1
[ QUOTE ] Severe good wiil gesture required. Which dealership are we talking about? [/ QUOTE ] Its Hatfield Audi UBM.. Its a shame becuase up until today all had been well, the showroom is the old Porsche H.R Owen one so its a nice place, but let down by today. Regarding driving the car from the depot - when I told them about how dirty it was there reply was "Well if we had delivered it to CAmbridge (Where my office is) we would have driven it so it would have been dirty anyway...!!" I had to count to ten before I walked away....... Stealers, don't you just love 'em.. They're great tyres, I changed the Conti's on my M3 for them and they stick like anything - the only downside is that the corners scub off pretty quick.. MRT
When i got my Sline the dealer told me it had 5 Arm alloys on it over the phone when he was reading from the spec sheet ,then when i went to see it they were 9 arm. He ended up taking some rims of another car and yes i got a 5th one as a spare all with P2's . Cant really comment about them against others as have had nothing to compare them to. Justhe1
Hmm, thats strange, mine seem OK, that said the one thing I wont miss is having to pay nearly £250.00 a corner to try a different type!!
richspeight
I saw the white cab in Hatfield Audi yesterday lunch time... Hideous! Wouldn't even look good with a pastel suit with the sleeves rolled up; and your socks safely in the sock drawer! Justhe... were you the one looking at the filthy phantom black saloon? Some PFY with trousers half way down his legs was being really arsey to a colleague of mine. She was just trying to pick a colour for her next A4! Didn't think much of the service from Hatfield either... They just had the look of 'couldn't be arsed' about them.
