Craigieboy
Cheers, looking at the pics from above it should get a great result, as long as I do it properly. Was going to buy some of the p21s Concours Carnauba Wax but I'll see how the stage 3 does first of all P.s the megs tyre gel also works great, and smells fantastic too
petsy
get some liquid leather conditioner if you want the smell of leather.
NewNiceMrMe
I'd not buy the sort of packaged bucket shown in the eBay advert kudos. Mainly because he's fibbing to say it's almost half price - well, not unless you need to buy a bucket too (and it must be an expensive one in the ad!). I'd buy them individually, but that's just personal preference. I certainly don't think you're gaining much from that offer. On another note....any mention of Meguiars NXT Metal Polish and I have to show one of my favourites pictures yet again! Fantastic polish!
NeilB
[ QUOTE ] You need to change you signature Bells0, it doesn't do the car justice. Looks much nicer in that photograph. [/ QUOTE ] Yup, use this one. Great clean looking car.
Craigieboy
Thats what I call a cared for exhaust. Not managed to restore mine to quite that high quality of a finish yet. Anyone used megs stage 3 then applied the p21s wax on top of that for extra finish?
shark_90
Drew, that looks absolutely amazing mate. I spent a whole day on mine two weeks ago, and I can totally appreciate the effort you must have put in to get a finish like that! Looking forward to seeing it

AvantSE
Well, I bought some Megs wax today from Halfords, but they didn't sell the polish, doh. Yet they had the claybar that took me so long to find at another branch. Looks like they'll never have the complete range in stock all at the same time. Still lacking the polish. I also cleaned out the garage today as I was off work - there were two full bottles of Turtle Wax, some crappy Simoniz polish that looks like T-Cut, and a full bottle of Mer polish. I take it Mer is crap as well?
AvantSE
Ooh, almost forgot the almost full bottle of Auto Glym polish as well.

Craigieboy
Just finished: wash car, dry car, claybar car, wash car, dry car, scratch x bits, nxt alloys and exhaust, stage 1,2,3 of car and a final buff off, then it rains Taken me nearly 6 hours today to do all that, is that normal? Claybar was excellent though
Sponge
I'd say 6 hours was good going. It takes me that long just to wash, dry and wax. I'm hoping tomorrow is going to be a nice day as I want to lose my Clay Bar cherry too. I might have to restrict my efforts to the bonnet though - otherwise I'll be at it all day. NewNiceMrMe
Well I've cheated. I have been out and jetwashed, cleaned and then dried the wheels of the 6. That way I have a head start when I wheel it out of the garage tomorrow morning before going for a country lane jaunt in it!
johnss8
AvantSE the AG stuff isn't a bad start if the car is really contaminated you may need to clay again in a few months so it will remove the AG then so you can apply Megs then if you want
Sponge
I vacuumed mine, so at least I don't need to do that tomorrow. If I'm going to clay away all my wax, then I guess a trip to Halfords is required for some pre-wax polish.
AvantSE
So far, it looks like: 1. Rinse 2. Wash with TW shampoo I have in stock 3. Clay with Megs 4. Wash 5. Polish with either Mer or Auto Glym 6. Wax with Megs Also have some AG glass polish which I will use if I get round to it.
