djcool
I'm flabbergasted. I'm 21, 3 years NCB, £400 XS, the car would be kept on my drive limited to 8,000 miles per year, Fully Comp cover on a 1999 Audi S4 2.7 Bi-Turbo Elepants wants £799 for 12 months cover insurance. Thats only £50 more than they want to insure my Volvo S60 D5. Is the S4 generally cheap to insure?
Cupramax
Yes, it was less for me to insure a new S4 than a Leon Cupra R. Admittedly I've got a few years on you though.
Sparky
That's very impressive mate. I'm only about £300 less than that for an A4 with 6 NCD at 28 years old!
JasonP
That's amazing, I pay that and I'm 36 with max ncb although on the V8 as opposed to the bi turbo. Think I'll check with elephant when mines up for renewal.
Mitchet
Have you tried other insurance companies yet? My insurance is due for renewal next month. Directline (current providers) have said £355 (I'll be 32 upon the renewal date, max NCB, 1xSP30) but Elepants (nice!) quoted me £550!

sayerbloke
Umm, admittedly it was only a quick check, but Direct Line don't appear to even know what an S4 is! They've got various A4s and the RS4 but not the S4
shark_90
That makes me sick. 21, 2 company car accidents in 2004, 2 years NCB, 20,000 per annum, 1.8T A4 - £2600.

JasonP
Not due for renewal till August, am currently with Direct Line, when i renewed last year they beat the 2nd best quote by £300. I always have a good look round before renewing. My other half just swapped hers to Sheilas Wheels and saved over £150, perhaps we all ought to have sex change operations!!!! Sparky
I've just been quoted by Admiral. 54-plate A4, 1.9TDI - 28 years old, 6 ncd (was on 7 but lost a point through claims), 15,000k per year, two claims for vandalism parked on drive yada yada yada - £793 FFS. Why?!
Petem95
£800?!!! for an S4?! That sounds almost too cheap - I paid £680 for a 2.0 2002 A4 with 6000mile limit age 25 - 0 NCB (previous compnay car) and an SP30, and thats garaged in a low risk post code! You should double check that quote, and if it is correct get yourself an S4!!!
Booster
£800 insurance on an S4 for a 21 year old. Sorry, just don't believe that.

Sparky
My missus drives a 2.0T FSI (only 185bhp, not 341!), and that cost her £399, with 9 ncd points, 8,000 miles a year limit.

J_C
Swiftcover.com were the best for me. 53 plate S4, 35 years old, 9 yrs ncd, 8000 miles per year excluding commuting, 9 points, garaged, £100 voluntary excess. £486.

P_G
Almost went there but Swiftcover don't do modified cars, which should really include your Milltek JC (according to them anyway). They were the ones that referred me to Adrian Flux, so 32, 6 NCD protected, 54 plate on 12000 miles + class 1 business usage, no points or claims in last 5 years comes out at £798. Jon
£800 sounds way cheap unless you live in the middle of nowhere. Even then it sounds cheap. My 53 plate A4 Avant 2.5 TDi Quattro Sport was costing me £790. I'm 32 10 years NCD, 1 x SP50
