sayerbloke
Almost guaranteed they'd replace the window and wing mirror, fix any scratches, etc, and wouldn't tell the customer it even happened...

cruiser647
Interesting Health & Safety case! The stand just seems to have moved out ofthe way. I know VW's are heavy, but to push a hydraulic stand that far away!!!! Falling that far, will probably mean new suspension components, new drive shaft (maybe pushed into the gearbox???) A lot of work!
DaddyDub
This was another forum, apparently it was at Lightcliffe Volkswagen in Halifax.
RossG
I would be wanting a new car. IMO there is no way of telling what could have been damaged on that car in that situation!

[/ QUOTE ] don't think the lift moved out of the way, looks like they failed ot check it was in the right position to lift the car, absolutely dealers fault, and I wouldn't want it back, i'd be demanding a new car , free hire car in meantime and compensation. DanG
Remember those lifts are rated for the Touareg too, so I doubt something failed, probably just got the jacking points wrong (new model etc). I would defo want a new car. I hope the owner has seen this......
Tarmac_Terrorist
Looking at the door shut gaps the chasis is bent as well. Anyway it was a bit dirty - respray will do it good
DanG
I bet they fckd it up even more taking the thing down again too.... In fact as its resting on the body work at the front, when they lower it, the front Left wheel will start rolling forward, and the thing might actually end up on its side! davidhodgkinson
We had one of our work vans do this several years ago. it was down to the mechanic not putting one of the lifting arms in the correct place.
