[/ QUOTE ] On the contrary, isn't that what they were build to shine on? Lets looks at the stats: Mini Cooper S - 143bhp/ton WRX STi - 188bhp/ton Mini Cooper S - Front Wheel Drive WRX STi - 4 Wheel Drive Any finally that all important Torque figure - vital for in gear action.... Mini Cooper S - 155 Lb ft WRX STi - 289 Lb ft From this, Bergerac bazza can deduce that either the STi driver wasn't trying that hard, or he was infact a crap driver Case solved p.s all figures from EVO Knowledge

I had a play with a Cooper S a few weeks ago, I've only got 208bhp (My car is also nearly 10 years old, and I was not trying that hard) and I did not see him until I stopped for Optimax; he gave me a as he drove past. QED, Scooby driver was not trying, or was a crap driver.
fjfr
All I'm saying is what happened. I pulled out infront of the scooby, ten mins later after some fast driving down lanes, I stopped. Unless I was stopping for junctions or breaking for 90degree corners, the scooby was fading away. When I stopped he said that he'd found it v hard to keep up. When I said narrow lanes, I meant v v narrow lanes with tight bends - which is where a nimble FWD car shines. Anyway, you can quote figures all you like, but they don't mean anything in real life situations. Would you believe a modded R32 with blueflame and the ecu upgrade and an air filter couldn't shift a standard 210 S3? Dosn't mean to say that it didn't happen. Woppum
Well I remember finding it hard to keep up with my friends cooper down the twisties when I was in the R32. Obviously my car was alot faster, but it was also alot bigger. I also know how much confidence and how easy it is to drive a cooper fast. I believe you fjfr! But you can all not believe me if you want. PS. Cheers woppum.
