Being in need of another toy has got me thinking about buying an eighties or nineties lump of metal (think spending five days non-stop in the Scumball Scirocco started it), but I'm stuck with about five options - none with stupid performance, but reasonably quick all the same...

Audi Ur-Quattro 20V

Lancia Delta Integrale

Alfasud Green Cloverleaf 1.7

VW Corrado VR6

Porsche 993 Targa (just love the look of them)

What would you buy?

For me it has to be a 1985 RS Turbo in white or if not available a circa 1990 model in red.

I lusted after these cars when I was younger alas the insurance was several thousand even back then frown.gif

Lotus Carlton - fantastic car, My Dad had a pre-production variant for a few weeks and it was just mind blowing performance and as a kid (well ok 20yr old) never was allowed to drive it. My Sister had one for her wedding car!

Audi 80 20v - brother had one in Burgandy with Beige trim - I loved it and used it whenever he wasnt around.

Audi Coupe - Brother had one of these in Orange as well - good taste runs in the family 169144-ok.gif

Milo, a friend, or ex-acquaintance of mine, has a red RS Turbo identical to that - and it is incredibe. He bought it from an auction and has spent the best part of 18 months restoring it to its original condition. He's not mechanically minded as such and has spent a lot of money in garages to do the job - but it has been well worth it. cool.gif

A mint non chav RS Turbo with reasonable milage will fetch good money nowadays, if he doesn't feck it up, keeps mileage down, he should make a bit of money on that in years to come.
