Simonl
They all have to do it by law. Most of the call centre monkeys just don't realise they can.
Richy
Well the person I spoke to spoke to their 'technical team' and another one I spoke to checked with their underwriters and I got a no both times. I told them it didnt make sense as the car needed to have insurance in order to be registered!
Simonl
No you only need a reg number for the tax, not the registration. But it doesn't make sense. All a reg number does is identify that exact vehicle, not a another similar GTI, just like a chassis number would! feckin idiots. Once the car is on the UK system, the dealer can give it a reg number (a week before it even arrives) you can then get the insurance docs sorted out and posted in readiness for collection day! Inzaghi
I used Privledge for the same situation and found them to be excellent. This was after dealing with a lesser company, causing me a large degree of hassle. Saved money in the end thou.
Richy
ugghh, the car arrived in the UK on Tuesday (12th) but I won't be able to collect it probably until next Friday (22nd) now. I think there is a delay with the DVLA registering the cars or something.

Richy
Picked up the car yesterday. Very happy with it! I'm being a bit careful not to go over 4k revs to often but I am also not driving it like a granny The colour is gorgeous. I am so pleased with how it looks. It's not even been detailed yet either! Noticed today that the number plate is actually incorrect. Informed Shaun tonight by email and he got back to me at 10pm saying he would drive some new ones down to me himself tomorrow (xmas eve). Amazing customer services! I cannot recommend Select enough tbh.

ashleywater
Hi Richy . Glad to hear you are enjoying the car so much , and thanks for the heads up on the Monzas, I think I might be on to a result on that score if the wheels are "up to scratch" so to speak, ATB FA

I didn't want to put anything online straight away because it hadn't been cleaned, but now Alex and Neil from DetailingWorld have got their hands on it and the results are attached.
