Tarmac_Terrorist
What a nightmare Oli. I guess it just doesn't feel like your car anymore. I guess they must have stuck a few miles on it to knacker 3 alloys like that. I just hope all turns out OK from now on. I guess you'll feel much happier with a fat cheque in one hand and a new GTI order in the other.

Ian_C
Just found this thread via General Cars. The state of the wheels and tyres! They have clearly thrashed the pants off it. Ian

DHA
Oli, Sorry to hear about this. I think that you may have to take the car back as it has been found. Could I suggest part-ex ing it against a new car and get the tyre fitters to cover the difference between the part-ex value of it stolen recovered and full price on a forecourt? rs32
it's been ragged almost certainly - very sad this you would expect insurers to have some sort of acceptance of this - hope this is the case

[/ QUOTE ] now I understand why the car disappeared... OlliH, I hope you don't take offence at my remarks. [/ QUOTE ] No offence taken. I have appreciated everyones remarks. I haven't slept very well the last few nights worrying about the outcome. Someone I know will be offering to buy the car off the garage, and I will be paid the difference between that and a new car plus all the extra's, and the losses from the interior, house lock changes etc Oh on that note, my garage door isn't made any more and the handle they have supplies doesn't match the door - so that could be interesting! davyk31
You have the chance to make a little bit of a profit there Oli on the wheels. Get the tyre fitter to pay you the full price for a car on 18s which is £450 as an option. Then add on to him the cost of your new BBS say £2000 and then sell your 18s to some eager Tyresmoker for approx £1200. You will then be left £750 in profit. Small consolation I know but every little bit helps.

RedRobin
The GTI and R32 Mk5s are like brothers. They're both good but I reckon that the GTI is more fun and has less licence losing potential because the GTI feels faster even if it's not.
