shark_90
[ QUOTE ] Mate, it was hardly yours at the time. Not one OEM part remains in your car now. [/ QUOTE ] It's all OEM, it just that most of it wasn't fitted by them

Soapsuds
[ QUOTE ] The Megane was damn hot in the flesh, and much nicer than the stock 225 that I occasionally spot driving into the same business park as Autoglass. Your tyres are bloody massive! Surely not the same size as the lesser 225 models? [/ QUOTE ] oh no no no (said in annoying Churchill Dog accent)...... they are the same size diameter (18's), but are a fraction wider and lower profile, plus they are the Sport Maxx 2's, with the XL (extra load) sidewalls. Hence it corners like its on rails - just ask MrMe... Does mean it gets a bit lairy in the wet though.....

NewNiceMrMe
Ok, for once and all... I was born in Salford but moved at 6 months old, so I'm not going to sound remotely Mancunian.... Most of my life was spent in North Yorkshire, in Whitby, before moving to Teesside for a short married spell...and then up to Tyneside. Any Geordie will tell you I am not a Geordie and that I certainly don't sound like one. Any Scouser, well they'll just nick your car when you're asking them the question, but I'm about as Scouse as Billy Connolly is Chinese. However, in and around Whitby, my accent wouldn't be noticed in the slightest. Its you Southerners. Lets be honest, you think anyone North of Peterborough is a Geordie and in a recent survey don't forget a good proportion of Londoners though Newcastle was in Scotland....(thats true too!). The car looks insanely over-tyred, which is possibly why it is lairy in the wet. Incredibly high levels of grip, but when you breach the limit and all the grip disappears and you start going sideways. At least you have bloody abs! Merely out of interest, have you had to chance to drive any of the Renaultsport Clios for comparison? Ian

[/ QUOTE ] 182 with cup pack and spoilers - very similar, but tends to cock its leg up like my old Polo and Golf used to do (your 205 probably does!!). Very similar handling, but never really diven the clio in any vain, only on fast and short test drive (it was a wee bit too small for me). The Phase 1 225 meggys were slated for lack of steering feedback, but this is a p2 and it (the steering) has been tuned above the normal p2 225's too and had 75% uprated rear suspension....... All in all, maybe a Clio Trophy is better marginally? Not much in it though and as a mini-GT car / cruiser for everyday use, this is great for me

garcon magnifique
Trust me - the 205 does if you push it hard enough. Usually just before it decides to hunt its tail and project you backwards through the nearest hedge...
