djcool
Nearly made it!! Results achieved after remapping to 210bhp on the way back to Brighton from Birmingham (180 miles) between 55-70mph with AC on and M25 roadwork tailbacks. djcool
The remap helped quite a bit, before the remap I was struggling to get 72mpg Edit - This was running on Shell Diesel Extra with the usual dose of Millers.

Rustynuts
Just make sure you check the actual figures against what the computer tells you. With a remap, you mess about with the data the computer uses to calculate the miles per gallon figures, and it gives an incorrect reading. Still not bad going though. [/ QUOTE ] Not experienced that with remaps before. The tuning box I had certainly did that very thing, though! I will top up with diesel tomorrow but so far have done 350 miles on just over a 1/4 tank of fuel!
Golfer
My Re-Mapped A8TDI did not change fuel usage figures! over a 11K peroid.
djcool
I'll fill it up tomorrow to get the exact figures, gut feeling is that it'll be about 74-75mpg. Not bad for a 200bhp heavy old barge of a Volvo!
rothwell
Skoda Fabia 1.4TDi 80bhp's are very good on fuel I have averaged 68mpg without even trying, I 'm sure if I really really tried I could get close to 80mpg.
badgersuk
The most I got out of my A4 2.5tdi was about 62mpg on a 60-65mph run of around 100 miles. Was much better after it was chipped. (which is for sale by the way as i've sold the car - http://www.tyresmoke.net/classifieds.php?ShowAd=1750) My dad doesn't get that much out of his chipped D5 - can you confirm what you've had done to it - rolling road model specific re-map or just a plug in tuning box? I know he'll be annoyed someone is getting more MPG than he is! Thanks.

[/ QUOTE ] A plug in tuning box definately screws with the way that the ECU calculates fuel usage, so if you were using one on a 2.5TDi A4 then I'm afraid you didn't do 62mpg at all! The 2.5TDi quattro I used to drive averaged 33mpg!

Sponge
No offence, but 80mpg? Finding that very hard to believe. Especially out of a 2.4l @ 210bhp
drpellypo
When I had the old 1.9 Passat I once managed to get 80mpg on a run from Northumberland down to Bristol. 60 all the way, and drove like an old lady. I worked this out by full tank - full tank cost. The computer said 85!
DieselHead
What are the rules for this? I regularly get between 76mpg and 80mpg on the A19 running south out of York. It is a single carriageway, with less than a dozen roundabouts in 50 miles. The car is a standard spec Citroen C3 1.4 HDi
