Sparky
What do you do when you are one of the lucky ones to get hold of a PS3? Yup, take the bugger apart! http://www.reghardware.com/2006/11/13/sony_ps3_disassembled/
gizze
I think this is the first console I have not owned at launch, must be getting old, or maybe a little wiser!!
Sparky
Wiser I'd have said, since it's not out in the UK and people are charging 4x the original price to ship it to the UK!!! feel free to suggest it's because you're old, though
CarMad
I'm still in two minds about the PS3. Maybe when the new titles are out and the reviews start flooding in I will change my mind. But I do have an issue with the way that Sony always release to us last all the time. I'm even going to look at a Wii ... but at the moment I'm enjoying playing more PC games than anything. So not in any rush at the moment.
Sparky
It doesn't bother me with Europe being last to get a release - I can't see how it does. They have to zone off the world for supply reasons, and yes, we could argue why do the States get it first, but who really cares? Let them iron out the bugs! I will get one for certain. The PS2 was a great machine when it came out (just as DVD was launching) and now it's doing the same again as Blueray launches too - so for me, it will be getting a games machine and a way to watch new blueray discs, until I've bought a dedicated machine for that. I don't think the price will remain as it is when it launches to be honest. I can see a small reduction coming.

robin09
"Such was the competition that apparently people were going to the length of paying homeless people up to 10,000 yen (£45) to line up on their behalf." Well Sony certainly know how to whip up a frenzy!
Snail
To be honest, there were people queuing for about a week for the 360, and stupid profits made on ebay from them. When Sony announced limited numbers of PS3s, it was obvious exactly the same thing was going to happen. Im sure a large percentage of PS3s were brought purely to make profit from, and as such, paying someone £45, to make >£200 is very clever! Especially as rumour has it this was very organised, so it was only 1 or 2 people paying loads of homeless people to queue.

daveknott
Looks like a great system. Won't be getting one at launch though I don't think. God of War 2 on PS2 will keep me busy for while when that comes out
