jimberland
Just put the S4 in since the brake warning light was on. Docklands Audi have come back with a cost of just over £600 for front discs, front pads, rear pads and brake fluid change. Does that sound about right? Tizzy
You might want to go back a page and have a look at my service saga last week, but my front discs were c. £270 fitted, the Front Pads are about £150 fitted - brake fluid only needs doing every 2 years normally. £600 sounds a little high (although London Audi stealer labour rates are probably higher than Lincoln's) I'd be tempted to phone a couple more stealer's for quotes. If time is not a constraint, you could always buy the parts yourself from Neil (Nelson S Line) and just get the 'stealer to fit them.
TDiAvant
I priced the front brakes (disks & pads)from Audi and they were about 290ish, not sure how much brake fluid is, but it does look like they are going for the eye ball’s and the sockets. jimberland
Just got a breakdown of the costs. Almost identical to tizzy's. London labour is where the price differs. £79 for brake fluid - it was low, i checked before putting it in to the stealers and would rather have them replace than top it up if they are changing the pads and discs. Merlot
What's the mileage? Should it need rear pads yet?

rottenbend
New rear pads at 20k - sounds a bit premature! I've done 27k and mine have loads left.
Merlot
Tip won't help and the Cab weighs a bit but I had my manual S4 Avant front pads done at 38k miles (discs fine) and the rears were still very happy.
P_G
I'm coming up to £34K miles and no warning lights as yet, although my local stealer (who I am about to have a big falling out with) sent me a nice car to tell me that my brake fluid should be replaced as the car is coming up to 2 years. Should I have the heart to tell them that I'm already getting that done along with slightly more efficient disks and pads? If you can wait a while jimberland you can have my old pads and disks dependent of course on how much is left on them.
jimberland
Thanks for the offer P_G but i'll just get it done. My accountant has said he will find a way of putting it through the company. Just out of interest what are the more efficient disks and pads? Scotty
I had new disks, new pads and new fluid in the last couple of weeks. NelsonA4sline provided the pads and disks (around £200IIRC) I then got a mobile Audi-tech (Dean Hill) to install them and do the fluid change. This cost £135. Total cost £240ish. Audi wanted £420+ without parts!!
