BobF
Chaps, I am looking to buy one of these in the next few weeks as i've refound my gaming bug. I need your advice on what package I should get and why? What do i really need? What can i live without?
RacingRed
Games wise? Project Gotham Racing 3 if you like cars, I'd avoid Test Drive. Gears of War is excellent if you like shooters. I'm curious about Viva Pinata, if you have young kids who will be using it you might look into that. Dead Rising is a decent spin on the Zombie game, but there are issues with it depending on what TV you have. Call of Duty is also alright, WW2 shooter, if you like that sort of thing. Woppum
Games wise: Prey Gears of war Project gotham 3 Test drive unlimited Oblivion Quake 4 Pro evo 6 Condemned All of the above are the best of what is currently out. Saint row is a stab at the GTA thing, Dead rising is very very limited, and I dont like Tom Clancy games...
BobF
Thanks for the games update, what about system hardware? What memory is needed? etc Whats the big difference between the core and full system?
silentandy
Get the premium so you get the hard drive and can then play online. Also add Call of Duty 3 to Woppum's list.
gizze
Do you like first person shooters?? Do you like PC style games?? If yes get a 360, if no don't bother.
Snail
Bob, unless you never intend having broadband, get the Core version, otherwise get the Premium. If you get a Core you'll need a seperate memory card, whereas the premium allows you to save games to the harddisk. The only other hardware to consider is cabling. If you have a HDTV, then the premium comes with component, which is good for 720p/1080i. If you dont have a HDTV, id recommend a VGA cable, which allows you to play games on a PC Monitor. robin09
See, judging by the games mentioned, the 360 doesnt seem too promising. None of those games jumps out at me, except Gears of War I suppose. I will definitely wait for the PS3.
