Not sure about it being older it is kinds new, well tweaked for the S3 with £10 worth of chrome on the vents tongue.gif. To be honest though agree its one of the best in the class, this pic is off a LHD model but the exactly same interior as mine, not many better places to be in this class 169144-ok.gif

One small thing, if you don't mind, the new S3 feels very crowded inside, not enough space in the back and the steering wheel isn't as thick as the R32's, nice form , but not thick enough - very important. The performance on the other side is impressive, from a 4 pot.

I dont mind at all, I hate the standard wheel it is too thin and looks dung.gif didnt like paying £270 for this flat bottom wheel but it is lovely to use.

Dont really notice the rear space thing as 95% of the time its just me or the mrs too at the weekend. Hence why I moved from the A4, well that and a few extra horsies to play with 169144-ok.gif

I dont need to defend my corner as to be honest I dont give a f*** just putting my view across but clearly you are far better informed crazy.gif

Personally I dont give a rats arse about the brands upsetting each other but if you look back over the last few years it clearly exists as a policy, even within the Audi brand. The original S3 was not 225 BHP until the TT had been for a while as they didn't want it to upstage the TT. The new S3 could easily of been 280 BHP from launch but the new 2.0 TT Quattro is seen as a more flagship model so no doubt it will have this powerplant for atleast 9 months before the S3 gets updates. I would be surpised that all if the Golf RSI would be allowed to be faster than the S4 but hey whay do I know.

Dont think I care for 1 minute if the Golf RSI has 300 BHP, as BHP is not everything and if it is a better can than the competition then great. 169144-ok.gif

Az If you don't give a fig, then why argue the point. Reading English does not appear to be your strong point either.

Getting hetty because I dare to criticize your sweeping generalisations that VW wouldn't dare upset Audi branding and usurp any current Audi model is rather girlie (without wanting to upset any girls tongue.gif).

Grow up, all your posts here on the RSi seem to be pointedly negative, Audi are better blah, blah, blah. VW wouldn't dare do this blah, blah, blah.

As for resorting to near swearing, have I hit a nerve grin.gif

Once you've enjoyed a flat bottomed wheel you probably won't want any other type of wheel.

The S3 and Mk2 TT I sat behind the wheels of in the Audi Pavilion at Autostadt, Wolfsburg, was faultless in terms of instrumentation and quality of finish. However, the TT felt more spacious than the S3!

As we, the consumers, have so many irrational and individual needs, long may the manufacturers offer such a variety of cars for us to choose from.

No matter which engine the Golf RSi ends up with, it's surely a tiny market. Unless it's very substantially lighter weight, I don't see the point of a 3.6 Golf and it's also flying in the face of the green carbon issues which we are told are so important in the car world.

....I'm just going to say that having seen AZ's new black S3, it's immaculate and looks fabulous at night at least. It's clearly a quality car. Nonetheless it wouldn't suit everyone (not my practical uses for example), just as a VeeDub doesn't suit everyone either.

Each to their own and let's just enjoy and respect each other's choices [i'm not aiming this at anyone in particular].

I havent met many or any W****s on TSN but there is always one so to speak. Why do you need to be offensive just because you have or had a VW crazy.gif. Sour grapes on the S3, absolutely no way I love it.

No raw nerve I am not 18 you just seem to think I am that stressed by it I am simply stating fact on what the VAG group have always done. I wish the golf RSI good luck and welcome its 280 BHP to the hot hatch line up.

Personally I dont see the point in a Golf that is even heavier in the nose as the BHP will not be that much more useable than the R32 but let hope they do something magical. 169144-ok.gif

May I suggest you try and improve you how to win friends and influence people skills.

The strange thing is that although some peeps get all fired up in the forum about 'my choice of car is better than yours' etc etc etc, when we all gather in the car park for a TSN meet I get the impression that everyone is being quite sincere and genuine in their appreciation of each others cars even if it wouldn't be their individual choice. There's no way I would want a Monaro but.... notworthy.gifnotworthy.gif

Hopefully I'm not being naive about this.

Apart from the vents and optional flat steering wheel the rest of it is like the A3. I prefer the more modern MK V interior layout especially the FSA and Radio/CD/SatNav design - and its quite a bit bigger car.

Thats good as you have the R32 and thats your preference 169144-ok.gif IF we all liked the same cars it would be boring.

I think that the only way everyone would be happy is to can afford to buy the R32, the S3, the GTI, the RS4 and so on, to have them all. Each of everyone has something special in it - the engine, the sound, the interior, the make or all of the above. I for one, I would liike to buy them both: R32 and S3 , and as family car the RS4. But that's only me.

But enough of thiis , this is Golf RSi topic, not S3 vs R32.
