Snail
I was reading an interesting article on this. Page 1 Page 2 Which is a simplified analysis of the game making business model. Certainly id say they are incorrect on the development costs for PS3, but they are right, theres a balance between development costs, console manufacturer bribes, and potential sales. And at the moment the 360 has more sales potential, and lower development costs, making it the better money making platform. Sony need to reduce development costs, and get more units into the field, otherwise the 360 will stay the platform that developers favour financially. CarMad
And it this Game makers struggle to make a profit on new generation games is anything to go by things aren't about to get any easier for the developers.

[/ QUOTE ] That means the way to make money will be multi-platform games, and small games for online download via the marketplaces of 360/PS3/Wii. To be honest i spent a lot of time on project gotham and forza and then bought gt4 because i'd always loved them in the past. Maybe my taste has changed but i'll stick with project gotham and the awesome test drive unlimited. Weird one this game, took me a few months to be pursuaded it was worth a purchase, now i hate to think how much time i've lost!!! Picked up a HD dvd drive for the 360 today - so now its not even worth buying the ps3 as a blu ray player
Snail
GT does have one advantage, its now being released after Forza2. Sony HAS to make sure that GT:Next blows Forza2 away because along with FPS and Sports games, the 360 seems to be aligning itself as a console for driving games. Thorburn
I have to say that to this day GT4 is the most expensive game I've ever bought (£120 for the console, £30 for the game, and its the only PS2 game I own) And I play it these days, its absolute rubbish. GT4 has been surpassed on so many levels, GT HD would have to be a step up in every way (graphics mean nothing), I'm used to Live For Speed and GTR1/2, GT can't touch them. CarMad
Will have to see how much its improved, and I do hope it has damage this time, it will be a farce if it doesn't IMO. As above the others are way better now and a local PC and Online experience, live for Speed especially.
Riz
I wouldnt expect GT:HD to be vast improvement in the physic`s etc.... think GT4 tarted up alittle.... GT5 is supposed the next true GT title. GT:HD will no doubt be bright and colourful and I too only bought the PS2 for the GT series of games. PS2 £70 GT Wheel £100 GT3 £20 GT3 Concept £25 GT4 Prologue £25 GT4 £40 Ouch! I think that just buying a console for few games is pointless.... you`d be better off buying a Wii and having "real" fun. Im holding back now and going to see what develops. Riz
Sponge
[ QUOTE ] Resistance:Fall Of Man... Firstly, the intro FMVs for this really show off the PS3s video abilities, they look far better than MI3... ...The graphics are good, but its not quite GOW, close though... [/ QUOTE ] This about sums it up for me as far as PlayStations go - impressive cut scenes inbetween distinctly average in game play. I'll never buy a PS because of it.
