Speedywheels
Presumably this is leaked information to soften the blow when it's announced in the Budget and people have a sigh of relief when they find out that its only £350?

ashleywater
Cheer up peeps, Gordo & chums will use the funds raised for good a cause............ 2012 Olympics is a few quid short and think of all the CO2 that little 2 week exercise should generate.......... Never know he could go all "primeministerial" and send the lads in Iraq & Afghanistan a few copies of the yellow pages as stick on body armour. That shouldn't break the bank now should it Gordo? v6tas
[ QUOTE ] i think i understand now, so if i sold the R to someone else (obviously!) the would it go up a group or remain in Class f?? [/ QUOTE ] No it would stay in the same group as it all hinges on when the car itself was actually registered in the UK.
Medway
You should all move to the Middle East. I paid £17k for mine brand new, no road tax and it costs me £6 to fill her up with Super Unleaded..... But then you'd have to put up with spoilt little 16 year old dick heads driving round at full pelt in V8 Landcruisers, prolific traffic jams, paying £7 a pint because the consumption of alchol is frowned upon, no sausage, no bacon, your wife being perved on becuase their own women are covered head to toe in black..... [/ QUOTE ] Im going to accelerate extra hard - and leave gear changes very late in protest. I am quite an ethical person and have been for years - but I dont need legislation (read tax) to make me change my ways. Especially when the extra tax I pay, wont go on reducing emissions, it will just go towards a great big shiny missile to send over to Iraq.....I wonder what tax band cruise missiles are? Ian_G
I wonder what this will do for residuals. Mine is a Feb 06 so just squeaks under the tax attack. There is a June '06 in the stealers... which is worth more now? Are they going to sell many more R32s? A friend has an R32 on order but he is now going to cancel and get an S3. His worry is that this is almost certainly just the start of it for big engined cars. Bl**dy ridiculous to call the R32 a gas guzzler - best fuel consumption I've had from a car in 20 years. Still does not meen we have to like it of cause.

RedRobin
[ QUOTE ] £300....so thats about 1 months fuel [/ QUOTE ] ....If you are referring to £300 as an airfare, my ticket is paid for by others plus they don't pay anything like the normal fare anyway - More like the cost of one tank of V-Power. Although I'd much prefer to drive there anyway, other circumstances dictate I fly - My travelling companion is too busy to have time to be driven, even in the fastest car in the world the GTI . My trip is just one typical real-world circumstance which illustrates that people have to use aeroplanes sometimes. Are we going to scrap all flights? bluey
Am I the only one who is getting VERY fecked off with all this global warming shat. Why can't those twats in parliment just be honest and admit it is being used as an excuse to screw every last penny from each one of us. Well, from now on, I am going to leave every light I can on, use the car to go to the end of my drive and get the mail, and recycle bugger all. Please god, can somebody with even a minute trace of honesty stand for parliament.
