R32Ash
I'm not an NHS employee, but I thought this might be of use to some of those on here who are and don't know about it. Microsoft link.

eolair
with the ms home use programme, you can get the current version (2007) or the previous ver (2003)
drpellypo
This is a cracking deal. Needs to be too considering the NHS has the biggest software contract with Microsoft in the world. The least they can do is sub some copies of office for the staff!
Thorburn
[ QUOTE ] excellent Anyone used 2007? How steep is the learning curve with the ribbon? which version do you get? [/ QUOTE ] I've been using it since November (MSDN) and I find the ribbon is great, occasionally find myself scratching my head trying to find something and then realise its placed quite sensibly and I've been staring at it for 5 minutes. Once you've found everything you need its a big improvement.
Gren
Saw this a couple of weeks back and racked my brains for anyone I knew who works for NHS. Came up a blank unfortunately.
Daz
We also get this deal at our work too. So it's not just the NHS, it depends on your companies relationship with Microsoft and how much you spend with them.

drpellypo
I think Waylander meant which version of office. In 2007 there are basic, ultimate, etc etc. I asked MS which version the NHS get but am yet to get a reply.
shao_khan
This applies to several of the major banks, BT, NHS, some local government - you need to checck with your IT support to see if youhave this agreement in place with Microsoft. Gren
Did anyone apply for this? How long does it take? Ordered it through work - a no brainer really.......don't really need it but it will come in handy (using OpenOffice at the moment). Got an email from MS 11 days ago to say it was being despatched and nothing yet. Hopefully its gonna be better than the Vista 'Express' upgrade
Waylander
it is supposed to be slower on XP than Office 03 so I didn't bother yet...but I guess as it takes a few weeks to arrives I should plan ahead!

cruiser647
Is there any real way in which MS can tell if you don't work for the NHS (or whoever has this offer) anymore? No? Probably not? And will you genuinely go out and buy the £300 version if you move jobs? No! Thought not! Great deal for the real thing. Dodgy copies are more expensive!
