Golfer
[ QUOTE ] Not sure how much this would actually bother me I tend to drive my S2000 extremely "Vigourously" shall we say, but when I think about it high end speed is something I very rarely do. For me it's all about handling and acceleration.... [/ QUOTE ] I bought a V8 4.2 road rocket I could not give TWO for all this bull
BigMeanBob
Problem with limiting all cars to 100mph...what happens to road legal track cars and performance cars that people want to use on track. Surely the government shouldn't be allowed to have any say what speed I can do on private roads (which is what they'd be doing by limiting my car to 100mph) b0b

The GTi is nowhere near as fast as your S2000 in a straight line of course, but journo's still managed to get 130 mph out of them during testing. I've never been above 110. I get more enjoyment doing 30-70mph in third leaving country villages. Makes me laugh out loud everytime. Ian

Chav
That's my old car anyway. It never cut grass, but it was the victim of a lawn mower once and got pummelled with 100s of pebbles - as yer do!! It flattens grass though, so guess its kinda close. I think even a small petrol mower with a 4bhp engine has a pretty good power/weight ratio though
RichTT
What I want to know is do they intend to fit limiters to cars to 100mph. or do they want to ban all cars that are capable of 100mph- which is probably every car apart from Reliant Robins? I rarely go over 100mph,like previosly said its about acceleration.braking,handling.
Chris_B
[ QUOTE ] I think even a small petrol mower with a 4bhp engine has a pretty good power/weight ratio though [/ QUOTE ] Well, a typical large push petrol mower would be about 35kgs, and have 5hp. That's 5 divided by 0.035 tonnes isn't it? Which gives you 142.8 hp/ tonne!
Chris_B
[ QUOTE ] 145 bhp / ton. [/ QUOTE ] Better than a lawn mower! I'm going to miss having 232hp/tonne. 125hp/tonne... Ian [/ QUOTE ] "sharper" - not a word I'd associate with an A3. But why would anyone buying an allroad consider an A3? You do realise the allroad is capable off-road dont ya Ian? And a bit bigger with room for stuff in the back too. Allroad is much nicer car!!
