When I am parking my 52 A4 Cab and I put the steering wheel on full lock to get into a parking space, I can hear a high pitched whining noise. Is that normal? Mook Posted July 24, 2007 Report Share Posted July 24, 2007 It depends what the whining is and how loud. The worst case scenario is the power steering pump. To minise wear, I know it sounds daft, but try to avoid holding it on full lock. It should last OK, but you should have it checked out when it's next in for service.
