Aftermarket gearknobs?

Hi All,

Looking for an aftermarket gearknob for the R32.

It's a MK V Manual.

What I'm looking for is:

1. Heavier (to take some of the stiffness out of the quick shift kit)

2. Doesn't light up like a Thai bordello

3. Suits the interior of the car

4. Doesn't require major surgery (or cutting up the OEM boot) to fit.

I've looked at the OSIR's and apart from the disco lights I quite like them, however open to recommendations from the learned ones.

I've never considered changing it on any car, tbh. You could do worse than try a B7 RS4 option as an alternative (although I'm not sure it'll fit):

Agree re the OSIR option - although they make some bloody nice carbon-fibre stuff for the Mk5 Golf, A3 and TT

Thanks Mook, the main reason for looking at aftermarket was to get a heavier shift knob to reduce the effort now that I have a short shift fitted.

I've found with previous cars that putting some weight on the end of the lever takes some of the notchiness out of short shifts.

I had Momo one on the MKIII. Brushed aluminium, pretty heavy, pretty simple to fit, different options with regards what's written (or not in my case) on it. Downside was it could get pretty hot in summer and damn cold in winter! I'll see if can find link. Bottom one is my favourite. Ex girlfriend had one in her Golf. Good quality leather and picks up the satin aluminium of the R trim
