biturbo
My word! Did anyone see this yesterday? IRL at Michigan, two cars touched wheels at 218mph. Dario Franchitti walked away from the six car pileup!
Cagey
Scary stuff when those cars get airborne. Who was in the car that lifted? The clip has no sound. EDIT - It was Franchitti wasn't it I remember seeing the almighty accident that Kenny Brack had a few years ago He wasn't so lucky - took him about 18 months to recover. edo
Nasty. I suppose in his favour, there wasnt a big deceleration - i..e slamming into a wall. Still rather him than me!

nordberg
Poor driving on that occasion. How did he miss the chequered flag? You would have thought his team would have been on the radio to him also.....
fizzbitt
thats just insane... although it seems like even the commentators were blaming the car in front for braking there.. Who knows what the norm in in indy racing after passing the flag.
Rustynuts
The norm in Indycars is to run on after the flag (usually round to the back straight), so that racers behind who're still racing for positions don't have to contend with suddenly slowing cars. As soon as one starts slowing up, all the rest behind have to slow aswell, and it backs up to the finish line.
fizzbitt
Cheers Rusty... that will explain it a little as to why he was still on full throttle when he hit..
bells0
Jeez, that's gotta knock his confidence for the next race......
