rbithal Posted September 10, 2007 Report Share Posted September 10, 2007 My B6 has almost done 19500 since it's last AVS. However the Service indicator on DIS states 2000 miles to next service. I thought it was a 2 year/ 20000 interval between AVS? or is it due to the fact that I basically do 90% of my miles on the m4? any help would be appreciated on whether I should just book it in for a service rightaway? Guest Posted September 10, 2007 Report Share Posted September 10, 2007 From the Vag-Com manual for resetting the AVS indicator for AVS mileage, the max mileage that can occur between services is I think 50k km, and can be changed. 22k miles between services for gentle motorway driving sounds about right. http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vw_sri.html - same procedure for the A4 B6. [/ QUOTE ] Totally agree ref motorway miles causing less wear, although I prefer to change the oil more regularly - clean, spangly oil is better than older stuff that's starting to turn dark brown.
