  1. No torque, i have the driven the Supersports as far as grunt and looks go thats where you need to be at! Although after the slight bashing i gave it was showing about 16MPG....!
  2. Id wait for the facelift to address the interior and smarten the looks, cant be to far away now. John said "that comfy, classy, quick" got to be an E Class, 350 CDi. Check out the new GS in a few months time! I loved the XJ Supersport with the boat like curve in the dash. Lessmodels looked worse, not sure why they dont get the whole BMW thing even if you buy the crapested interior option and the lowest HP engine you can still make it look mean/sporty! Geoff
  3. The US has the be the biggest market for this car (at the moment atleast!) so Lexus and Infinity looks are probably a big plus!
  4. If people could remeber to look and use a roundabout im sure that would help a lot in reducing crashes!
  5. This past week there was a traffic police car parked up at the end of the high road. I was behind someone who was happily doing 30 MPH when he spotted the police (about 15 meters away!) he gets on the brakes and rolls past at 20 and im of course right on his bumper..... Who would and should of got a ticket is probably just about anyones guess depending on the cop.
  6. The thing is when you go back the next day when they are open theres no point in staying open later. If you stopped buying the product or using the garage then they might have a reason to change!
  7. You will probably want to cover the DW with something in the long run as its not really a last step product. Discolouration on white is easily dealt with when you get it machine polished. I would certantly opt for a full decontamination with a decon kit if you really want the white be bright. Geoff
  8. Hi! Unlike say the metal polish you are using now or the NXT one from Meguiars which are quite fine the 1Z has larger cutting particles and you will need to work them for longer to get a better finish (ie rub for for longer!) or switch out to a more mild product to finish. Geoff
  9. From everything i have seen this appears to be general opinion of the population!
  10. As far as I am concerned, no deal = sale. The last car i ordered was a few months for a new employee of mine, a 3 Series Special Edition Estate and i went to all the online places and after spending 40 mins at the dealer managed to get an even better deal by £300! I would never go to dealer with out paper work, genuine or otherwise showing the price i can get the car else where and what i have been offered for mine as a trade in!
  11. 1Z Metal polish, runs about £4-£5 a bottle, its a bit abrasive so you will need to work it down well. It should have the extra bite/cut you require to get through the hard stuff. Maybe even finish it with a less polisher that you have. Its a great product! Geoff
  12. Although its sad those people lost there jobs etc. Its business at the end of the day.... The issue more so is that no one ever came along and replaced it with something new.
  13. Bit like a gun really, nothing really wrong with it until its being shot at you....
  14. Lets face it a few years later everyone was borrowing money and everyone else was paying themself big money
  15. Follow the life of supernatural wax....http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/cleaning/108737-dodo-supernatural-not.html http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/cleaning/109818-quick-supernatural-update.html http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/cleaning/111285-supernatural-goes-way-dodo-3rd-month-update.html Much better buying a little pot of Race Glaze 55.
  16. The Meguiars product is new and its pretty nice. I have a small bottle that is avalible in various "kits" Meguiars is now selling. It repells water very well and has good jetting (looks wet), it does not inhibit metalics/pearls either. Tough to say about durability as i have only had it few months and used it only a few weeks ago. Its very easy to use (in liquid form anyway much like NXT). I have always made the argument that if a product is strong and does what you want then surely reapplying it often isnt a problem if it isnt a pain? Its different to the AG wax in the way it looks deals with water.
  17. I had the E39 3.0D A 4DR (190HP) and it was certantly dident break down. However, it did get very noisy after about 30K and i ran it on til about 78K and it sounded like a tractor! It guffed a lot of black out the back too on heavy gunning esp. from a stop. It turned about 28 - 34MPG. Over all a 3-4 mpg better then the X5 which had the same engine.
  18. Comfty, spacious, quick, robust, on budget and plenty of room for a tall person....get yourself in an S60 T5. I think C link was optional at the start but standard at the end and it makes quite an improvment to the handling. 5 Cylinder grunt is a nice noise too The C Class with the twin lights were pretty bad in all respects! Even worse when had with the 320 6 cylinder unit.... Geoff
  19. Great pics DBK! The Camper looks good but did the Aero 8 really look that bad in person in that paint colour?! If anyone is in Paris i believe Ralph Lauren is showing his collection there for the next month.
  20. Thats fine too, i normally do a coat a week or every couple days as you can easily run out of time!
  21. Carmad, glad you found a car you wanted! Malagus; the thing i always found with Skoda is that say with the Octavia there were some tempting entry price models. However if you wanted "leather" and a few decent bits this really started to make for an expensive Skoda. There were always other brands like Kia/Hyundai or some of the Jap brands that seemed to offer so much more at that price point its always been a no brainer for which one to buy.
  22. Hi You can apply the RG55, the products below are likely to affect the way it looks. However, its quite bright, wet and reflective and so is SRP. My advice on the two coats would be to apply 1 coat (are you using your fingers or foam applicator?) and put it on say 2-3 panels then remove it. After you have done the whole car give the first panels another wipe over and see if its "oily" if it is then i would hold off on applying further coats. They probably suggest wating between coats, its a very soft, oily product. If you apply it and let it set for too long its very hard to remove! Geoff
  23. My car looks like its been driving through a desert! Luckily i wont get it serviced til July so the cabin filter can get changed when the pollens gone!
