Thorburn
Much like PGR3, the game seems to have a difficulty curve like a trek across the alps. It's all over the place. I find I blitz through a bunch of races first try, then get my ass handed to me by a single event and spend an hour trying to complete it.
Woppum
[ QUOTE ] biggest shame is they dropped the csl i mean how iconic is the dtm in comparison? [/ QUOTE ] I would agree but its always nice to have your car in the game. The R32 was no way near the best hpot hatch in the first game but I still used it every time. The CSL was a bit slow but very good. never lost a race against the RS4
sbgwz
the M3 csl was the best car in E class most poised, best handling not a single other E class car could touch it
Woppum
Still in real life it would beat most C class cars!

Snail
WOW!! Im really loving PGR4. As i've got no BB yet, im playing the Gotham Career, and am up to 15th. Its quality Gotta say the bikes take some serious getting used to. They are very wobbly, but there is nothing like overtaking someone while on one wheel standing up on your bike (press x to show off on the bikes) I do agree with JT, there does seem to be some wierd difficulty leveling going on. Im playing through the career on normal, and most races i can beat first time, but every now and again, theres one that i just cant do for sh##. I havn't found a particuarly difficult cone challenge yet, where in the last game, even normal ones took me weeks
DHA
I can do the races on normal in career mode but some of the challenges (cones which I was never good at and overtakes) really are hard. Its odd the difference in skill required from one event to the next on the same skill level.
Snail
Whats everyone's favourite cars? Im loving the R8, but for me it has to be both the TVRS!
DHA
R8 is good if a little slow. I love the Enzo, you can be very brutal with it but the grip and forgiveness in the chassis is amazing. I had been put off the Viper from the GT days as it was always a nightmare, but try it - its amazing on the brakes
Thorburn
I've mostly been sticking to the standard unlocked cars, but I bought some new stuff just before I switched things off last time I played so will give them a try soon.
Chelsea Mick
My current favourites, as I'm playing it offline (Might well change when eventually playing it online) Class A = Mercedes CLK-GTR & Suzuki GSX-R1000 Class B = Ferrari Enzo Ferrari Class C = RUF RGT Calss D = TVR Sagaris Class E = Subaru Impreza 22B STi Class F = Lancia Delta Integrale Evo & BSA Gold Star DBD34 Class G = Mazda MX-

Omi
I seem to be using the GSXR1000 almost exclusively for A-Class stuff... It's phenomenal, back it in to any corner and drift through and it's still cornering quicker than the AI. I'm maxing out the Kudos on about Lap 2 of any given challenge... Have only got 2 more packs to unlock, then I'll wait until I've got the K1000000 for the Gamer Pic. Have clocked most of the achievements too, going to have to go back through Arcade mode on Platinum though. Anyone up for getting the Team/Multiplayer achievements together at some point add me: Omi 2007

pingpongpo
Is this really good? I don't get to buy many games and saw that half-life 2 is coming out soon. I normally get bored of the racing games after a while. Can this sustain me?
Omi
I've had it 5 days and I'm nearly through the 1-player section... If you intend to do a lot of online racing I think it's got mileage, otherwise stick with Forza.
Dave
I'm surprised you say that.. I really cannot get on with Forza at all It's far too complex and unforgiving.. i don't have time to dedicate to it, and that's where PGR comes in, I can load it up in a spare half hour, have a good session and then turn it off. [/ QUOTE ] Thats exactly the point. PGR is an arcade game, its meant to be accessible and fun. Forza is a driving simulator. You wouldn't expect to get in Diablo, take it on the track, and be able to drive on the limit immediately. Put the effort in, and Forza is far far more rewarding than PGR. Something like Grand Turismo has always been somewhere between PGR and Forza, not as arcade as PGR, but not as hardcore as Forza.
Thorburn
Is GT really that much more hardcore than Forza 2? Forza 2 is tough for a console game, but compared to PC sims (GP Legends, GTR2, F1 Challenge, etc) it's fairly soft edged and forgiving.

Snail
GP Legends. The biggest difference being the types of cars both games support. Get the Racing spec cars on Forza, with no driver aids, and they are just as difficult IMO. Both require smooth acceleration, braking, and cornering, if anything the brakes in Forza are too inclined to lock, making it more difficult. Thorburn
Nope, that is complete imo. GP Legends is an epicly difficult game, Forza 2 has barely challenged me at all as I've worked up to level 39 (although I will agree with the brakes locking very easily). GP Legends on the higher difficulty levels you have to lift the throttle every time you change gear (even if the gears are set to automatic) or the engine will go pop, and the tyre model is incredibly accurate. Even on easy difficulty it's a struggle to break into the top 6, it is possibly one of the hardest and most accurate driving simulations ever made and Forza 2 simply isn't in the same league.
