Merlot
Nice to see you coming round - the mpg will settle down around 28 which is ok for the performance plus no £400 car tax. Cancelling the sub to Audi Driver?

PS) Audi driver mag will be dropped and a name change to something neutral.

AH101
Based on experience, I was returning 35mpg+ on my 535d.....whilst I certainly do mainly motorway miles I wasn't hanging around. I've spec'd the USB/Audio interface on my new 635d Sport Convertible, I'd like to know a little more about it.....like where is it located in the car (any pictures anybody?), does it show the album/track name tags on the iDrive system, what size USB stick are people using, any hints or tips? Thanks in advance!

garcon magnifique
[ QUOTE ] I am required to tell you for personal liability that I am 6ft 5 and 17 stone... [/ QUOTE ] You're not Jeremy Clarkson are you? [ QUOTE ] 'Garcon' I particularly single you out for critisim, what kind of person uses the identity of 'James May'for their online profile. You clearly feel so inadequate in your every day life that you take on someone eles's identity. Dont you realise how very very odd that is!!! Unless you are James May - in which case I'm not watching Top Gear any more ! [/ QUOTE ] You are Jeremy Clarkson!

[/ QUOTE ] I have it on my 535d - very useful. It takes the form of a USB and 3.5mm jack socket in the armrest cubbyhole - on a 5 series it replaces the aircon vent that is apparently there on "normal" cars. I use my iPod there, which requires a special lead from BMW, and haven't tried it with a USB stick. Track names appear in the iDrive menu. Once you select the audio source, you choose from Playlists/Artists/Albums/Songs as per usual iPod menu. Works v well IMHO
superman_okuk
[ QUOTE ] I pick a BMW 635d m sport up at the end of this month and just PXed my BMW 335 m sport that was remapped (power is briliant with a remap)I will be getting this new one remapped as well as it makes the car so much faster and better miles to the gallon as well by 10% if you drive it normalley. [/ QUOTE ] Update: I have now had the car remapped and It even better than standard. The power is not so strog as when I had my 335 M Sport done. But it is very good all the same. I will put that down to the weight of the car. I have defenetly made the right choice when picking this car also the sport mode is good when you need to put your foot down

superman_okuk
[ QUOTE ] Oh, and you sure your i-drive is not set for US mpg, they tend to be from the factory for some reason. 32 mpg UK is just under 26 mpg US. [/ QUOTE ] Thanks for that it was set on USA mpg and now ajusted it now. I have now been averaging 28mpg (set on US mpg)so I will see now it comes in the next week or so. superman_okuk
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I have now had the 635d sport for a week now and the tank holds about 66 litres full. I got 448 miles out of the first tank and was showing 24.7 mpg on the computer. So much for 40 mpg by what BMW says. lol [/ QUOTE ] I found on my test drive the MPG figures were low (28) did you have it in "Sport" as this holds lower gears longer at any speeds?. I really fancied one myself, too tight in the back for tall people though. [/ QUOTE ] Its got a lot better now I have 2000+ mile on the clock(28miles PG)that is set on US mpg. No I did not have it in sport mode.
