I still have first dibs there on a DSG M3 and am the first on the list for the CSL (the one I most probably will go for).

mlhj83
I heard rumours from various sources including BMW themselves that their M DCT is being scrapped for an uprated version of SMG as they have been having problems with clutch wear with DCT. Obviously, it's impossible to say whether it's true. Whichever transmission they use, hopefully not too much weight will be added to the already porky E92. sitas3
there's one thing about the new M3 - there's certainly plenty about for sale which I can't remember the same being said for the 'old' E46 just after launch. Is that a measure of the car or the market now? Like them or not I bet they will be a great buy in a year or too.. Actually there's a few B7 RS4's around too. Ben
I reckon there's more demand for the good E46 M3's at the moment
Medway
[ QUOTE ] Not going down much though !!! Still hard pushed to find one below that 40k mark [/ QUOTE ] People are probably being stubborn and holding out for a top price. The prices will come down if there are loads of them up for sale. After reading the reviews of the M3, although the journalists think it's a great car, I feel that if I were to buy one I'd be getting something far too similar to an American Muscle car, especially in it's coupe form. Also, from the pictures it doesn't 'look' as muscular and purposeful as the E46. The E46 M3 kind of filled it's own niche, there was nothing really our there to compare it to for it's price, size and performance - only really the 911 which was much more to buy. In my opinion, BMW should have concentrated on a tuned, lightweight version of the 335i and called that the M3. For some reason, the idea of one of those interests me more than a coupe with big V8 slapped into it that does good powerslides...
Woppum
I dont think the V8 weighs any more than the 335 engine. Apart from that its nothing like a american engine. It revs to 8400 for a start and has way more power than torque.
