Brabus
what does this release do, Mac?
Mac
No idea - 'bug fixes' apparently. Apple are usually pretty tight lipped about updates for a few days. I installed it as soon as it came out but then again we have an IT room full of 3g iphones waiting to go out - if it broke I'd walk in a pick up another one. Dave
Still got to say that I'm mega disappointed that there is no MMS and the bluetooth is a joke. Edited August 19, 2008 by Dave
Mac
Agree on MMS, have no problems with the Blutetooth.
Dave
Doesn't the bluetooth only work with the apple headset? I know it won't connect to my TomTom:confused:
shao_khan
The bluetooth is a bit pants - for our car you have to pair the iphone every time, it will never sync automatically, both my nokia and SE phones get in the car and they pair straight away. Its the video I miss from when you're out and you see the kids doing something stoopid.
Biscuits
Bluetooth works fine in the E92 and using our Garmin 360T. Not tried it with other handsfree kits. Not installed 2.0.2 yet, but will do in the morning.
Mollox
The lack of MMS hasn't really bothered me. Emailing pics these days is basically as good and the camera is so crap, why would you want to? The (deliberate) restrictions on bluetooth are annoying. I suspect its Apple/O2 trying to stop you fleecing the unlimited internet deal by porting laptops etc through it but as mentioned, not being able to connect to Tomtom - for hands-free at the very least and Traffic more so is pissing me off. How do I get the updates? Apps store (on the phone) is only offering me updates for Dynolicious and fecking iBeer....

bells0
Bluetooth works fine with my TomTom 510. MMS would be handy, though email works fine and i'm sure all mobiles will go this way soon. Copy + paste and ability to forward sms needs to be sorted asap though!
Mollox
Itunes -> Iphone -> Check for updates Yeah - I realised how stupid that question was as soon as I plugged into my laptop! Just assumed you'd be able to do it via wifi on the phone
tom_hargreaves
I've installed this update. But the only bug it's fixed is the horrific delay when browsing through contacts. There's still a lot of keyboard lag whilst texting/typing and Safari crashes still. My 2G version never did this, but then again it never had the new software on it. Anyone else still not notice any differences?
Ritey
I've noticed keyboard lag still with this fix, I think another one will be on it's way very soon!
dave877
Hope so. A quick off and on seems to solve the lag but that's far from ideal. Also suggestions out there that they're looking to make the software more energy efficient too. Anything to extend the battery life.
