Mac
Noticed this comment on a pic of Dave's RS6: ==== From: [email protected] (Sep 15, 2003 10:33 BST) Dave ... she is queen bra ... if i may ask, what type of rims are those and if so do you they'll fit on a golf Mk3 Vr6. Thanx and keep her shinning. === Anybody know if the RS6 rims would fit?
Sven
There are proly (aftermarket) RS6 rims that would fit. I doubt very much you could just swap them though, as RS6 is 255/35-19 while R32 has 225/40-18 IIRC, and the offset & bolts (whaddayacallit in English?) are proly different. 255/30-19 would be about the same circumflex (0,3% fast). However I don't know if that would fit...
Snail
The aftermarket jobbies are available in 17, 18 and 19" IIRC, so will definitely have a size that will fit a golf.
teejoo
A Golf mk3 has a bolt pattern of 4*100 (and the VR6 5*100 I think); The RS6 has 5*112, so the originals won't fit.
shao_khan
i think Scotty has aftermarket versions - look good on the TT - so guess they would be 5x100 and et35(ish) - so may work on Mk3 VR6.
Drillslinger
Sorry Mac, got distracted again, what was the question?
Scotty
The ones I have are 18" 8.5J ET30. They can be bought in 16", 17", 18" and 19" versions from www.rochfordtyres.co.uk More pics on Rochfords site HERE
Sven
They look superb on your TT as well! Pity they only list the 19" in 8J with 235/35... I need bigger ones.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't know half the terms used here, but I suppose it's something like "the dog's privates" (which I don't get because that's quite the opposite of what it means IMO). Weird lot... WTF?? [/ QUOTE ] I don't know half the terms used here, but I suppose it's something like "the dog's privates" (which I don't get because that's quite the opposite of what it means IMO). Weird lot... [/ QUOTE ] Ah now, I can help you with the origin of "The dogs privates". It started our as "The business", as in "Wow, look at that black Audi S8, that is the business , meaning, that is really jolly super! With me so far? Good... So, as tends to happen with slang people mutated it to be cool, and The business soon became "The Bee's knees". (The business/bees knees, d'ya see?) Then when the Bees Knees became universal ("look at that Audi Cabriolet, that is The Bees Knees ") people then wanted to mutate, or vary, it again. So variations on the Bees Knees... The bees bollocks (clever huh? substitute bollocks for knees for extra "cool" in the school playground). Then it was a minor hop to The Dogs Bollocks, followed by a whole range of varieties of the same thing. The Dogs Bollocks The Dogs Danglies The Dogs Privates The Mutts Nuts (a personal favourite! ) The Poodles Privates The Canines knackers Etc etc.... Hence in conversational use "Wow, look at that Audi Cabriolet, that is the Dogs Privates , much better than that Audi S8 we were eulogising over further up this thread!" D'ya see??? Any other phrases I can help you with?
Sven
Okay, thanks for explaining... Still don't particularly fancy looking at dogs privates though...
