JonC
My in-laws stay in the Black Isle on the east coast of the Highlands, directly east of Applecross which lies to the West. The roads from Inverness to the Applecross Penisula are full of straights, twisties and hairpins with the most dramatic scenery ever, straight from the Land That Time Forgot. Journey time to Inverness from Edinburgh is 3 hours of stunted driving to say the best, with short blasts (longest being 6 miles of 100+) of foot down driving. The journey to Applecross from Inverness however, is best enjoyed in manual, up on the paddles with DSG at it's best. Roll on Easter

sternocleidomastoid
Have driven the roads north of Inverness a few times. I love them. You know you've got a great drive coming up when a normal person (someone not into cars) describes a road as a "bad road". These pictures have whetted my appetite for the coming summer of climbing mountains and the fun drives to get to them.

sitas3
I've driven that road - back in 1990 with a car full of mates touring up there. Great road over to Torridon. The view across applecross bay is great.
