Okay, your exchange was a tiny bit prickly (on both sides) in parts but thanks to the both of you, the rest of us are better informed . Exactly Red, mine and Gareths banter has given anyone interested in buying an RS3 all the current information out there, and as Gareth says, these are "Full Margin" or maximum mark up vehicles for stealers, and you would probably have to sell 3 to 4 A1,s to achieve the same overall margin a stealer would get on this type of car for one sale, so I would not underestimate a large allocation going to dealers initially for that reason only, also factor in, you are not going to get any form of discount on an RS model. The other thing is, that any centre launch is going to require a showroom model, either ordered by the dealer or supplied by Audi UK, so unless they stagger the launch across a series of days then this is going require quite a few cars, bit like A7 sportback, all the Audi dealers I have visited recently on my travels with work, have all had a physical showroom cars associated with the centre launch of this new model in there showrooms (What a pig ugly monster of a car IMHO) which is not exactly a cheap car by anyones measure (Well apart from the "Bob Diamonds" of this World)

I suppose there's no option not to have roof bars - Who would want something on the roof of a RS? Shame about no panoramic or sun roof I'm not bothered by no Mag ride. RedRobin
Upgrade to coilovers straight away? Starts getting even more expensive doesn't it! To be fair, I haven't any conscious experience of mag ride - I don't know if the 2010 S4 I borrowed had it and I don't think any of the VW Scirocco's or Mk6 GTI I've driven have it. I know that I don't like their Comfort/Normal/Sport suspension settings and think they're a waste of time and very irritating that the system defaults to Normal after every time you park the car. Is that Mag ride? I was only interested in the Sport ride as I seek a car which is as taut and tactile as possible.
Tipex
suppose there's no option not to have roof bars - Who would want something on the roof of a RS? Ha, I find that a highly amusing comment, most of the RS Audis round here, and lots of the S-line Audis, seem to have ski/bike racks permanently attached to the roof, but never with any actual skis or bikes on them. Seems to be the de-rigeur item for pretentious Audi drivers to attach to the roof. Happened to be at the local dry ski slope the other day, car park full of Audi's (and a few Discoverys) with ski racks, and everyone skiing on rented skis! RedRobin
I suppose that if you were to roll your Audi on ice, those roof bars would act as skis and your car would usefully double as a sledge.

Milo
I know someone like that  Actually, I put them on and leave them on for 6-8 months of the year. Pretentious?* No. I just can't see the point of spending 15 minutes taking everything off and 15 minutes putting it all back on every time I want to take the bikes out. Just because I leave them on, it doesn't mean I have drive around with a bike on the roof every day, much to some people's surprise. * or certainly no more pretentious than those idiots who drive around with a window scraper and tin of de-icer in their glove box /boot 365 days a year. What nobs. Why not keep it in the garage and only take it out on those days when the temperature is below 0°C? And tow bars? The number of flash bastards I see driving around with a tow bar without a trailer or caravan behind. Why don't they just take it off, pretentious ****s. Tipex
Lol, I didn't think for one minute that anyone on here would actually have an empty rack on an Audi!* Come on Milo, admit it, the only reason you leave it on is cos you think it looks cool, and people will think your all sporty and stuff! *Mind you, I suppose there are quite a few Audi driving types on here, and they are the sort. Milo
I doubt my can of de-icer and scraper are affecting my mpg much. Prententious? Moi? My mpg is not affected as I never go fast enough for wind resistance to come into the equation. And after the last 36 hours I've had, I'm suffering from a complete sense of humour failure and would desperately like to kick the fook out of our cat/dog if only we had one. Normal service and blood pressure should be resumed later in the week with any luck.
