Snow fail of the year ?

Poor thing, most women BMW drivers probably don't know what wheels drive the car. I was supposed to be picking up an M5 but have delayed until the snow clears, I don't care what anyone says about the driver but four wheel drive really helps in this weather. Not once has my 8 got stuck on the steepest of hills/deepest of snow, it twitches a little but then again it is on big fat 285 summer tyres all round

I have to observe that for the cars I see floundering on the roads in these icy and snowy conditions, the BMW 1-Series seems to get in more diffuculties than most. It's shyte in these conditions with RWD, Run-Flats and horrific pilots behind the steering wheel !!

My car is the only car to have made it to the back of our car park today.

There are about 30-40 cars parked on the main road outside and a mere handful inside the car park.

Amongst those unable to get in are a couple of Audi's - including an S4. Mind you, if you'd seen how half of these morons were driving it is no surprise. Why don't people understand that a slow and steady trundle over snow will get you through most of it - instead of sitting there revving the bollocks off the poor cars and their wheeels digging deeper and deeper into the snow.

You always quipped that your technique was steady and slow - must have enticed the girls !! :o

As a 1 series driver I could take exception to your comment, but I can't because there are so many numpty 1 series drivers.

Took the car out ths morning, everything good- 2nd gear pull aways worked well. Did have problems getting out of a snow bound parking spot with parked cars 18" on from front and rear.

RWD doesn't like full lock and ice under the car.

RWD can be a pain, and when it gets really hard, reverse (excuse the pun) is the way forward!

That just shows that while a bit of patience helps, it's determination and desire for oneupmanship over colleagues can help you acheive great things +++

I sailed in, very little effort at all.

I do, however, suspect I shall be here quite late. With a spade. I have a horrible feeling I shall find the journey out the same as that in.
