Right then. Shakedown. Where and when :)

Two trackdays planned, IF our wonderful DVLA can get it registered in time and IF our wonderful postal service would mind delivering the cover note to Caterham within a few days of it being posted.

No, I'm not the slightest bit frustrated and twitchy. No, not at all. ::grinds teeth:: No, I'm just FINE. :ffs:

But if you should happen to see this on your garage's wall then worry :-)

I've been working to that flowchart for 20 years now...

Anyway, all the paperwork is in the right place now, and the documents are being sent to DVLA. I might have it in a week. Or it might take a bit longer.

well if you fancy a coffee we are only about 15 mins away!!

Coffee, or the Dartford tunnel... Hmm....

Thanks though, seriously, any other day I'd say yes, but I'm really squeezing this in today so that I can get my hands in it!

The two on the transporter are probably factory-build cars on their way to Gillingham for IVA.

If you need someone to pick it up and deliver it

A kind offer, but... err... No chance! +++

Back home now. It has struck me that having previously borrowed a 7 that I collected from and returned to Caterham in Surrey, and having just collected my own from Dartford and brought it home, probably about half my Caterham 7 experience to date is on the M25 :roflmao:

But I am smiling, despite that. She is a joy to drive, she really is. OK, so I am supremely biassed, but that's my opinion anyway. Mainly it is the steering; "direct" as an adjective just does not do it justice. Only the slightest movement is needed in order to change lanes - you almost decide to change lanes, and that itself has been enough steering input!

Ultimate speed is not overwhelming, as you would expect for something so un-aerodynamic. What is great is the pull - again, as is to be expected for something so light.

More to follow when I have time to type (there is a homework crisis at the moment) and when I've been able to drive on a wider range of roads. +++

I'd imagine the acceleration is pretty brutal.

The Academy cars are quickish, but not that quick - which is the great thing about the series - it's about having a quickish car the same as everyone else's, where the only advantage is in the driver and the set-up of the car +++

Drive it to work today, am now at my desk typing with tingling fingers as they warm up

Tomorrow, the first 2012 Academy briefing at Caterham Midlands in Leicester. I'll be one of the few (it seems) who actually have my car, so taking it there will be a must.

Next Friday, the first track day. Engine: meet Rev Limiter. Rev Limiter: meet Engine.

Yes, that pretty well sums it up. 5.5 seconds to 60, or thereabouts. Enough to have fun, not enough to fling you off at every single bend (only every other bend...).
