garcon magnifique
Why do people who drive sh1te 4x4s insist on having a picture of a horse, wolf, sunset, dog portrait etc on the rear of their car. Because they're fĂșcking pikeys.
Tipex
One thing I don't get, is people going to 'exclusive' car launches at dealers? There's nothing exclusive about being told when you can look at a car you may or may not want to buy (why would you even bother if you have no intention of buying?), i'd rather just go in my own time without a showroom full of beardy anoraks discussing the latest alteration to the tail lights of the newly slightly face lifted Audi. Ultimately, you're just an address in a database that they post something to, in the hopes of selling you something, why do people feel in some way privileged to have received this? M8CKN
I recently was invited to a VW test drive day where I had been chosen to drive "any car I wanted!"
Tipex
I get invites every week, even though we don't buy many cars these days (owner drivers rather than fleet cars), from all the local dealers, and they all go straight in the bin. garcon magnifique
I'd go to a launch event for a model I was actually interested in, because I'd hope all the relevant info would be easily available, staff would be on hand who knew the details, and there'd at least be some free drinks and a few waitresses to leer at. But I wouldn't exactly call it a privilege. Your life would have to be pretty dull for it to be that.
Twinspark
These f'ing wheel covers. Why do people who drive sh1te 4x4s insist on having a picture of a horse, wolf, sunset, dog portrait etc on the rear of their car. eldavo69
I go to every Porsche model launch I get invited too. Not because they're "exclusive" but because there's a free bar, plenty of food and loads of totty!
Booster
A mate recently bought an 07 S Class. It had loads of kit on it but no parking sensors or camera. Bizarre. I thought that would have been standard. Now I have been looking, I have seen a few that are exactly the same. How odd.

Not because they're "exclusive" but because there's a free bar, plenty of food and loads of totty! Yeah, sounds great. A free bar, useful when nearly everyone there is driving home! Scotty
If only there were cars you could temporarily hire with a driver to take you home ....
Andrew
I went to the launch event for the 90s Aston Martin Vantage in central London. That was quite special. Just getting to sit in the car was a real buzz - still my favourite car of all time.
eldavo69
Yeah, sounds great. A free bar, useful when nearly everyone there is driving home! Can't think of anything more boring to be honest. I got a lift there, met some friends there, drank far too much and made eyes at the sexy female dj. Apparently there were some cars there too, I know this as I got a phone call the following weekend as I was late for the test drive of the new Cayman I'd apparently booked and had no recollection of doing. garcon magnifique
I suppose, compared to the launch of the Cayman, the quality of free booze, free food and totty would have been somewhat lacking at the launch of the Peugeot 508 and the facelift of the Mondeo. Each to their own and all that, but personally, if I want a drink, something to eat, or to leer at totty, I can think of much better places to do it than a car dealership, but that's just my opinion. eldavo69
Ah! But it was drinking on a school night too Plus - I wanted a neb at the ÂŁ5.6m 917 whilst stood over it drinking peroni and holding a venison sausage at a jaunty angle.

Its nice to get out and meet new people and get entertained and get the motor washed for free. I've been to some with some great celebs there, footy teams and even got to see Russell Watson at one of them, that was pretty special. But hey its not for the first time your opinion is diametrically opposed to the many.
Tipex
But hey its not for the first time your opinion is diametrically opposed to the many. I somewhat suspect that you guys are in the minority actually, given the vast majority of people don't bother with that kind of thing! Celebs? Not interested one bit, they are just people like you and me, doing a job, doesn't make them special to me, but as I said, each to their own and I can understand why people do it, it just doesn't interest me.
