Hi Guys,

Long time no speak.

I need a hand on speccing my new rs6, and having trouble being decisive.

1. not sure whether to go with the dynamic pack as some of the reviews have panned the dynamic steering and the suspension.

2. colour, trying to balance resale with my hearts love of the matt daytona. would it be financial suicide to spec it? what colour would you have? currently torn between phantom black, pink, daytona normal, daytona matt. whats mamba black like in the flesh?

Hey Jon

Great choice in the new RS6. Wouldn't know personally but the general consensus of the motoring press is that the dynamic steering is far from great. Wonder if the dealer could get one with/one without for a back to back drive?

Colour wise your bound to be safer with Phantom Black or Daytona from a resale point of view. However, I love the Javagrun green from the exclusive range - only ever seen it twice but it looks incredible in the flesh +++

I understand the Daytona matt requires special care. And at 6k I think I'd swerve it because of that.

I am interested in this car too, but I think the pricing is a bit rich. It's 100k of car with reasonable spec, I'm not sure I can bring myself to spunk so much cash knowing it'll plummet.

Given the mixed comments on the S6, I.e. undoubtedly fast but a bit boring I'd absolutely want to drive one before even thinking about it.

The price does make the RS4 look far better value!

any ideas what the dynamic suspension is like? too hard for uk roads?

The launch reports I read said the dynamic setting was way too stiff - and I imagine that the launch would have been on perfect roads!

Similarly the dynamic setting on the steering was considered to be too heavy. I guess the only way you know is to drive it for yourself though - having said that, thinking about resale you might be better without it if the general feeling is that it is best avoided.

Agree that the green one would look amazing but might be tough to move on - I'd buy it off you, cheesy poofs at the ready +++

You'd have to me mad to go for the matt daytona - so its right up your street I'd imagine Jon!! ;)

Plus 21s painted in dual colour to match?!

Normal Daytona pearl for me with black optics and [normal colour] 20s thanks!

The RS6 is not on the config over here yet, but as I'm sure you know it is in Germany if you want to have a play...

Hi Jon, Good to see you have kept your impeccable taste ! :)

I would go with the Matt Daytona.. all my cars are daytona.. and it just shows off the lines to the best effect i feel.

I won't spec the dynamic ride.. you don't need it .. the car was set up a certain way by the guys at GmBH so why the need to change it?

I think the matt finish fashion is coming to an end. Ok most are just wraps and can be removed but for a car painted like that I can see it dating and costing as it falls out of favour.

Jon - since you've ignored us for 18 months, let's have a list of the metal you've been through :)
