Ian_C
Told you it was all airbrushing and light trickery! Yes your post on page 2 was spot on [unfortunately]. The red car (picture still on Audi website) appears to have killer arches! Alas its just a lie. Plus what looked like a carbon pack on the red car (a la C7 RS6) is just a plain black plastic rear diffuser (still, the C7 carbon pack is about six grand....) Scotty
.... another RS with "quattro" on the inter/oil/whatever cooler. I really hate that.
NewNiceMrMe
People will buy it and claim they like it because it is stealthy. They shall then spend every day telling everyone it is an RS3 ++ SPORT + HydroActiveS + Quattttttttroooooooo + StuckInTheAudiFinanceCircle + SOOOPERGrippyPro until they're bored of hearing it and reply with "It looks like an A3". cruiser647
No rear arches. Cheers to 'CellDamage' on RS246 for flagging the pics.... TP27
I actually spied a Demo B8 RS4 last night that quite took my fancy - somehow, even having had a B7 model, I still hanker to one one again - the 'dip' in forecourt fuel Prices makes it attractive too. I just know I can't do it though - I could never feel comfortable on TSN..........! If the nice lady from Camelot calls me at lunchtime tomorrow with some "good News", might make the decision slightly easier.......!!!
NewNiceMrMe
There's nothing wrong the the RS4. Lovely cars. Yours was a very nice car indeed and I wouldn't hesitate to buy an older used RS4 or RS6 if I wanted a big lumpy engine estate car. I wouldn't buy the new model. The price of them, as with the high end BMW M cars, beggars belief today. Edited January 17, 2015 by NewNiceMrMe
TP27
The price of a B8 to the similar Spec. of my B7 is a difference of about £18,000. On that basis, MrMe, you are bang on. For me, the RS3 is way too expensive. My neighbour has a brand new S3 in her driveway and driving it side by side to my Golf R, I know I bought the more appealing vehicle. Unfortunately, for her, she agreed with that conclusion too!!

Riz
Time for Riz to pop back onto TSN and add to this debate !!!! It is very hard for me to actually add anything, my lust for a Audi RS3 died a very long time ago .... its looks a bit meh and personally think Volkswagen have something more special if they go ahead with the Golf R400 concept. I am still running about in my GTi with no major issues to report with 16k miles under its belt ..... gone thru its first front set of Pirelli P-Zero tyres @ 15k miles with hard driving, not bad! I think for my next car it needs to be a little more sensible..... needs to be 5 doors and maybe a diesel or hybrid.
NewNiceMrMe
^^^ ...and there speaks a voice of reason. I too would choose a Golf GTi over an RS3, every day of the week. Edited January 17, 2015 by NewNiceMrMe
TP27
.......... maybe a diesel or hybrid. Oh dear Riz......! Great to have your input in this Thread though!!! R400 - it'll never happen. Riz
^^^ ...and there speaks a voice of reason. I too would choose a Golf GTi over an RS3, every day of the week. The GTi just ticks the right boxes for me at the moment and is fun when I wan't it to be. The Performance Pack e-Diff (VAQ) really does work when giving it the beans. I think the only minor niggle is that I wish I opted for a 5 door and perhaps DSG. Oh dear Riz......! Great to have your input in this Thread though!!! R400 - it'll never happen. The guys at Porsche will never allow it.....!! Your probably right, the Golf 400 has the potential to upset way to many sister models across the brands Back to the Audi RS3, meh!
