I came home today to see the little one gong crazy at a Disneyland advert so might look into Eurostar to there, get a local Apart Gotel or Holiday Inn or something and visit the parks for 3 days Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On a more serious note, stay in one of the Disney hotels, that way you don't have to deal with the crowds getting on/off the busses to the hotels which can be a pain in the arse as the French are quite rude and everyone has strollers/massive transforming 5 seater buggies. Eurostar is excellent, it quite literally drops you off at the gates, all the Disney hotels are located around the big lake outside the gates where all the restaurants and evening entertainment etc are, non Disney hotels are generally in the middle of nowhere, we like the Sequoia lodge as it has a nice pool. We did stay in the Exporer hotel once, it was pretty good with a nice pool (bloody freezing water mind), but has nothing around it and meant the dreaded bus ride to/from. Arch Posted May 20, 2016 Report Share Posted May 20, 2016 Stayed in Explorers also, couldn't fault it for the price really, i didnt try the pool but kids said it was cold! Didn't have much issue with busses going to and from, they are pretty rammed though. We tended to stay at the park as late as we could, eat at the restaurants outside and head back to crash. I need a break ideally a beach but in the absence this would please the kids which would be relaxing in itself and she's at the age where she would love it  Eurostar, 3-4-2 day 2-park tickets are about £900 so accomodation etc etc would take it to about £1500 for a 3 day trip which would be pretty good Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Everyone who has done both says the same but I think you have to treat them separately. USA have been doing it a lot longer and it is much more of an experience with the size of the place and money invested etc. Also factor in it's the other side of the world with a different culture to us Europeans and the whole place is an experience topped off my the theme park. Waylander, go old school and turn up at your favourite travel agent and see what last minute deals they have that fits your requirements. My mate and his new wife did this recently expecting to end up in Majorca, 12 hours later they were in Cuba for 14 nights. It stacks up better against Disneyland Park Anaheim or Disneyland HK ... except for the weather Having done all the Disney parks bar Singapore, I'd say it definitely isn't a poor relation to the US parks, the main issue is the weather and of course, the size. My pick of the Disneys would be HK believe it or not, catching the Disney train in to the lovely Disney station is great, the park isn't huge (quite small in fact) but the equivalent rides are much better, space mountain and the runaway train thing are leagues ahead of the French and US versions, and the place isn't packed even when the kids are off school. However some flights go up for last minute for example as they have already nearly filled the flight and made the profits and the last few can obviously afford to pay through the nose or so it seems.  One of the flight search companies came our recently with the ideal time to book which for Europe was something like 56days before the fight to get the ideal balance and chance of the best cost. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

On a more serious note, stay in one of the Disney hotels, that way you don't have to deal with the crowds getting on/off the busses to the hotels which can be a pain in the arse as the French are quite rude and everyone has strollers/massive transforming 5 seater buggies.   Couldn't disagree more.  We've done both and by far the best was the Radisson Blu.  The Radisson courtesy bus took 10 minutes at best and the queues to get in were 5-10 minutes at the most. Compared to the Disney Hotel we'd stayed in it was far superior in terms of room size, facilities and, much to my surprise, the friendliness of staff. We always had a seat on the bus, it came and went every 30 minutes and even had the bus to ourselves on a couple of occasions.  p.s. I have to say that our last visit there (2 years ago) was the best experience we've ever had. The weather was terrible but we had the nicest stay at any Disney place ever. No queues, no rude people, no problems at all - and we drove from here to Paris and back. I was amazed how smooth the whole trip went. It changed my view on Disney hotels but we'd done a lot of research on TripAdvisor and other sites before choosing our hotel. It was nowhere near the most expensive either, far from it. We've stayed at Disney places twice the price for half the accomodation in the past. I actually felt like I'd been mugged in the past. I know some people won't like me saying this - but I wouldn't be going to Disneyland Paris in the current climate.  They've already had an incident of guns being smuggled into the park and, thankfully, those responsible were caught. I don't like my plans being impacted by terrorism but, right now, Paris would be the last place on my list of destinations - particularly an American theme park. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
