Durrsaku
[ QUOTE ] I have to resign from the 50MPG club. I just cannot maintain it now. Was fun. All the best. [/ QUOTE ] Hey where are you going? I am resigning too. 34.7 mpg was my last one and it is getting worse.
drpellypo
I'm joining this club, but only *just.* The new Passat is nowehere near as good as my old one. On a decent run, I could get 85mpg average (yes, 85mpg) doing a steady 60 on the motorway (1.9 115 bhp). Now, with my 2.0 140bhp, I'm getting 50-54mpg on the same run. What's weird, is the old one only had 5 gears - the new one has got 6, so doing a lot less revs. o?
Rustynuts
Heavier car, not run in yet, winterised diesel, air conditioning, wider tyres, bigger wheels. Any or all of these will affect MPG.
shark_90
I'm definately resigning boys, as I am better placed in the 20mpg club nowadays. Had the car since Tuesday and already on my 3rd tank of fuel!

Never thought of that. I've now got Auto selected on the climatronic so air con doesn't kick in (although, would it do that to maintain temperature when it's this cold anyway?). WIll see how I go over the next few weeks. It's still cracking economy though, for what is a pretty quick car, and it's leaps and bounds ahead of the old one. [/ QUOTE ] I don't dare look at mine!! I have done just over 5,000 miles since I collected the car three and a half weeks ago, and the computer is showing 30.7mpg. Makes me really pleased I went diesel and not S4/RS4, if the d.i.s was showing 16mpg I would be crying, £700 in fuel is bad enough, but £1300?!!! [/ QUOTE ] I usually spend about £450 a month on fuel. Add that to the finance payment, insurance etc and the turtle costs me way more than my house each month. Is this sensible?!!! Maybe I should get a nice soot chucker.
