NewNiceMrMe
Yippee! I collect it on Friday afternoon. The dealership confirmed there was nothing they could do about expediting the plate transfer because the local DVLA office had become extremely awkward of late. I telephoned the office to speak to them personally and they confirmed even if someone went up there with the documents it would go in a queue and they'd quote 7-10 working days.....and stressed the fact they were hitting the 10 day mark at the moment. So...I'm putting the plate on retention and taking delivery on a standard 05 plate. The dealers will contribute the £80 transfer fee towards the retention fee, so it basically costs me £45. Can't complain about that and I'll put the private plate on later in the year when I'm bored of the 05 plate maybe! The good news continued when I rang Adrian Flux Insurance and discovered that because it has a Tracker Horizons fitted I won't need to change company or pay a penny extra....the only thing I pay is a £25 change of vehicle fee and my excesses go up slightly. Happy indeed! So please start praying for a glorious weekend of sunshine and I'll see everyone at the Northeast Meet at the weekend in my new motor! shao_khan
HAd exactly the same problem with my plate on my last new car - DVLA local office decided that efficiency is not the way forward and have gone for a close on 10 day turn around time.....pretty cr@p really. NewNiceMrMe
[ QUOTE ] How did you find the Dynamic Drive package on the test drive? [/ QUOTE ] Well the car felt superb, but not having driven one without it on I wouldn't know what they feel like without it! I have already said I think it's feedback was better than the M3's steering (something that I have said before) but it still leaves room for improvement. On saying that, it's essentially a large GT car so I guess I might be being a bit over critical there.

Calm Chris
Plonker- you forgot to ask for a full tank of fuel. Lets take some bets (on the assumption that you don't ask for it)-> Full tank without asking 50:1 3/4 full 8:3 1/2 full 5:3 1/4 full Evens Reserve 2:7 against Have a great time in it and do take care. The 1st few weeks of a new car ownership seems to be the most vunerable time regarding accidents and damage. Be that person parked 100m away from any other car! Calm Chris
Have you got a superguard / diamond bright treatment on the paint? If not get it done before the flies start drying there little bodies and blood puddles in to the finish!

See, on EVERY car, no matter how hard I push (and trust me, I do!), they reiterate like parrots that their policy is to put £12 of fuel in every car, new or used, on delivery!!! £12!!! Feck me. It'll get me off the forecourt in a 4.4 V8!!!! I even mentioned it to them yesterday again for about the millionth time! Guess what he said. He said...tell you what, you can have one the BMW Lifestyle 6-series keyrings (£16 to buy from the accessories booklet) - but you can't have more than £12 of fuel!!! Weird eh? Anyway, I'm not too bothered. I think it'll cost about £70 to fill the tank so that'll be job number one and I'm still delighted with the deal. Oh, I took him up on the keyring offer too! I'm a fanatical car washer anyway, so it'll give me plenty to do. Actually, that raises another point. It took me hours and hours and hours every weekend to do the M3....and the 645 is HUGE by comparison....I think I could be working nights...
