Well said that man, and while they're at it, they can paint that damn grill, lower the bugger and change those nasty alloys!

Erm, nope.

The first cars are being delivered to customers in Germany in November. UK customers will be taking delivery from February 2006, which probably means March or April, but they can be officially ordered from November.

RS3? If only they'd made one, I would have switched back to Audi again...

Mmmm, I'm afraid that dependes on the market. Here in Spain I'm going to test-drive a new R32 in november, month when R32's arrived at Spain. In fact, the 21 to 24 november new R32's will be tested in the Calafat Circuit, Tarragona (but only for the VW staff). I will post my impressions.

Aye, I was advised that you can place an order with a dealer now, but that order won't get sent to VW UK, and hence processed, until November and so its be a 2006 delivery.

Jan / Feb is very optomistic and only likely if your ordfer a stock car, and options and you be further down the queue.

I called up my dealer yesterday and they didn't know when orders will be processed and cars delivered. confused.gif

He just kept telling me that I'll have one of the first cars in the UK (having paid my £1000 deposit about a month ago).

I'd actually be quite happy with an 06 plate (that's when I origianlly planned to change cars) so don't mind a bit of a delay.

I would like to test drive the car before spec'ing my order but it seems this is unlikely to be possible in the UK.

Latest update I have is that the UK Launch (for VW dealerships to physically take orders) could be dealyed to mid-November 2005. Original Launch was to be 31 October 2005.

It has always been the case that delivery would not likely be until the New Year but as you suggest Gareth, February/March 2006 looks the case now!!

If I get any more information I'll let you know what I'm being told. 169144-ok.gif TP.

I doubt it Riz. There are going to be more R32s than GTIs (which are already 10 a penny) as the dealers are taking more orders for R32s than GTIs.

That alone is enough to put me off one. I dont want something that you will see all over the place every time you go out. coffee.gif

Im definitely going to look for something else now.

interesting.

Originally UK cars (demo's/Press/Showroom/first pre-orders) were landing here 2nd week of Nov for delivery (where appropriate) end of the month. But now it looks like those "early" cars will be next year anyway.

My info originally came from a VW Group DP mate and checked with VW UK HO too iamwithstupid.gif

What's your source on that one Soulboy. I've spoken to 3 local dealers and, although they've had a lot of interest, they have not taken many orders for new R32s yet, but are selling a shed load of GTIs.

Who cares if they become common. There's too many M3s around, but that wouldn't stop me buying one 169144-ok.gif

I never thought it would, but it does put me off. I think its because I have been spoilt with the special edition Mk4. I love there being few on the road, and the fact mine looks a bit bespoke anyway.
