I mean, look, I love the A4's DIS, but for the first time today it's low washer bottle water level light came on. Feck me. You'd think it was akin to engine failure. Firstly it's a bit oversized for a mere low water level warning isn't it! Particularly as it stays on! Secondly, and the bit I found most irritating, why the feck is it animated!!! It continues it's little annoying animation routine too. I wouldn't mind so much if it only ran for 5-10 seconds or whatever, but continually? It reminds me of: a) a little fountain in a garden pot or b) an upside-down space invader type character from a late 1970's arcade machine! Come on Audi, stop with the cheap graphics and just give a little warning light! Their DIS programmers were obviously short of things to do. It was annoying me so much that I stopped at a service station and spent £9.98 on 2 x 5 litre containers of screen wash! So I now have a spare 5 litres in the boot and the other has filled it up. With or without the graphic I'd have had to do that anyway because of the freezing fog on the M1 today - bloody awful. It was only because it was amber I didn't immediately call Audi Assist. Its even more annoying as it wipes out the DIS info on CDs etc. I find shouting at it helps. Ari Posted November 21, 2005 Report Share Posted November 21, 2005 Funnily enough one of the things that first turned me on to Audi was being in an Audi A6 at night, and I thought the detail and clarity of the DIS, especially in red with all the red background glow of the dash, was absolutely superb. Lovely detail and so much nicer than (for example) the orange little dot matrix display in my fathers 5 Series which could only display one thing at a time. Get some variety in there so it can entertain us on long journeys! Wish we could give it custom alarms and things for starters. And why don't they build radar detectors built into the car, so the beep comes through the stereo, and the camera location could be on the DIS etc. ... that would be really cool!
